Waters Edge is a comfortable, modern 3 bedroomed bungalow, furnished to a high standard and well equipped for 5 people. It is set in a peaceful valley on the banks of the River Inny on a small, select development of similar properties. Parking spaces are allocated to each property and the communal gardens are beautifully kept. The kitchen, lounge and dining area is open plan with oak flooring throughout. The back door gives access to the private patio which overlooks the River Inny. This is more of a stream than a river but is a peaceful place to sit and watch a great variety of birds and the cows and sheep in the meadow opposite. The bedrooms are all carpeted and are separated from the lounge area by an inner lobby. The beds will be made up for your arrival. A hand towel and a bath towel are provided for each guest but we would ask you to bring your own beach towels. There is electric heating in all rooms making it an ideal retreat in the cooler months.

Electricity is included in the price. A tennis court is on site and tennis racquets and tennis balls are provided. We aim to greet our guests on arrival so we can make sure that the accommodation meets with approval. A welcome tray is provided for all our guests and we are also willing to provide a breakfast pack if required.

Waters Edge is a little gem of a cottage. Situated in a quiet backwater all the delights of inland and coastal Cornwall are within easy reach. We had great fun exploring parts of the county we'd not seen before and visiting old haunts. Of course, it helped that we were blessed with good weather but the cottage was so warm and comfortable that on the single day of rain we enjoyed relaxing and enjoying the lovely surroundings. We always intended to use the tennis court at the end of the road but never quite got round to it! Next time perhaps.

The cottage is spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated and furnished with a wonderful attention to detail. In fact, the double bed was more comfortable than the one we have at home! Lots of games, novels, magazines, guidebooks and advice from previous visitors helped us make the most of our very short week.

Having stayed at many self-catering cottages it was a delight to find one so well equipped. For example, Dave and Jean not only provided tea-towels and washing-up liquid but there was salt, pepper, coffee and tea in the cupboard. Best of all was the lovely cream tea that was awaiting us; a real touch of Cornwall and very welcome after a long drive. It was also a pleasure to meet Dave and Jean who made a special effort to call round and check that we were comfortable and had all we needed. They were a fountain of good advice and seemed to know all the best restaurants and pubs in the area!

All in all, we can thoroughly recommend Waters Edge. It's location is rural and quiet (we loved it when the cows came down to the opposite riverbank) but near to beaches, moors and country. Dave and Jean were delightful and couldn't have done more to ensure we had a good holiday. They really care and it shows. Already planning when we can return.
