Stunning, 150 year old beautifully renovated farmhouse set in two acres of park-like gardens. The petit bois is situated on the edge of the village of Boisjean which is 5km from the famous mediaeval walled town of Montreuil-Sur-Mer. There is a restaurant and tabac in the village and in the neighbouring village of Wailly Beaucamp there are bakery/patisserie, butchers, a pharmacy, florists, garage and a very nice restaurant! The farmhouse has been sympathetically renovated and still has many of the original features including beautiful beams, a wood burning stove and quarry tile floors.

Nearest Airport: Le Touquet Paris Plage at 13 Miles

The beautiful sandy beaches of the opal coast are only fifteen minutes away with many opportunities for water sports including wind surfing, sailing and sand yachting. There are many good golf courses close by including two courses at Nampont St Martin (5 minutes away)and the two championship courses at Le Touquet Paris Plage (20 minutes away). Other activities close by include fishing (river, lake and sea) horse and pony riding in the village and many great opportunities for walking and cycling around the gorgeous countryside. For history buffs the property is close to the battlefields of the First and second World Wars as well as older sites including Agincourt and Crecy. For those with children the theme park of Bagatelle is only 15 minutes away and Disneyland Paris is an easy 2 hour drive.

The house is luxuriously furnished and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. There are 3 double bedrooms (one with a king size bed) a library with a large selection of books, games and DVDs for you to use during your stay. The huge sitting area contains large luxury sofas, a large T.V. with UK Sky television and a DVD Player with 5.1 cinema surround sound. The house has a large pine table which can easily seat eight people. There is a modern bathroom with stunning views over the garden and a separate toilet. The fully equipped Shaker Style Kitchen contains a fitted electric fan oven and gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Patio Doors opening directly onto a south facing sun terrace with beautiful outdoor furniture.

There is also a gas BBQ for those long outdoor evenings The grounds contain a swing and trampoline for the young (or young at heart) and at the garden leads into a private paddock surrounded by forest which is ideal for picnics on hot sunny days. The house is surrounded by fields which are used by the farm opposite for the famous boulannais horses including the nursery field for the foals directly next to the house. In short, our house provides a chance to spend a wonderful holiday in the countryside of Northern France which can be as energetic or as relaxing as you want while you stay in a stunning traditional French Farmhouse.

My family and I are located on the North Kent Coast about 20 minutes from the Eurotunnel terminal so over the past three years or so day trips to this area with Le Touquet and Montreuill sur Mer taking centre stage have become frequent. However, weekend stays are rare as with two young boys it is hard to find the correct facilities.

This property more than fulfilled our requirements and the owners were charming and accomodating from arrival to departure. The property is located close to the motorway/peage network meaning that for us, door-to-door took well under 3 hours including the train journey.

For our needs the cottage is wonderfully located in between the coast and Montrueill, neither taking more than 15 minutes to reach on a relaxed drive and one has to remember that this is attractive countryside to drive through.

The beds were comfy, the place was clean with tasteful decor, the garden is huge and the place feels very quiet and secure. The woodburning stove makes things feel very homely and all of the furniture was comfortable and looked after.

My buddy and I are keen cyclists so having wonderful, quiet country lanes and woods just outside the front gate is a great bonus whether you're cucling, jogging or just walking with your family.

A great experience and a memorable weekend were had by all (and we were given a terrific rate!). We look forward to having the time to return soon.
