This ancient house, surrounded by a courtyard with fruit trees, was once dedicated to agricultural activities and peasant life. It has been restored maintaining the original character with stone arches, alcoves and fireplaces. Its location in a quiet village, just minutes away from busier touristic destinations and its private courtyard offer an ideal retreat for people looking for a relaxing holiday. The house is divided into 4 independent apartments, each with their own distinguishing architectural features, restored preserving the ancient atmosphere of the place. The 4 units are equivalent in comfort and size and may be rented separately or together. This makes the property an excellent base for a group of families/friends that want to explore the beauty of the Salento peninsula. Prices are per apartment.

The house is located in Palmariggi, a little village with 1500 people, 8 km away from seaside and beaches and 10 mins by car from Otranto. Palmariggi offers basic services and small coffee bars, but the house is walking distance to a supermarket, a little bakery, a pizzeria, a coffee bar and a gas station. A few mins from the property, there is La Corte Dei Miracoli Restaurant, with exquisite food, great atmosphere and live entertainment during the summer nights. A few mins away by car there are also two 'Agriturismo' - farmhouses where food is produced locally -, Tenuta Sant’Andrea and Agriturismo La Cutura, which also features a botanical garden. Palmariggi strategic position in the heart of the Salento peninsula offers an excellent starting point for many excursions and day trips. Otranto, a famous historic town with breathtaking sea views, restaurants, pubs, a pedestrian shopping area and good nightlife, is 10 mins away.

All apartments overlook the charming garden with fruit trees, with an outdoor table that sits 6, a barbeque and a wood-fire pizza oven. Apartment “La Mangiatoia”. This apartment takes its name from its ancient use as stables, which is still evident in the archs and vaults of the living room. It is at the ground floor and features 1 double bedroom with a romantic arch on top of the bed, 1 living room with sofa bed (twins), kitchen, 1 bathroom with shower, laundry, air conditioning. Direct access to the garden. Beds for babies available upon request.
