Lovely 3 Bedroom Cottage, suitable for couples or families.

The Limes Cottage is situated in the centre of Silverdale village, on the coast between Lancaster and Kendal. We are on the border of Cumbria and Lancashire, in a lovely peaceful location,which is in the middle of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty [AONB]. Silverdale is surrounded by fantastic wildlife, woodland and limestone crags. The International Bird Reserve 'Leighton Moss' is only a mile away, as is the Golf Course and the Railway Station.

The village has an excellent childrens playground and a superb indoor swimming pool facility. Numerous woodland and coastal walks can be taken from the cottage door. We are situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty [AONB] which is worth visiting at any time of the year. Golf, horse-riding, fishing, cycling and birdwatching are all available nearby. The International Bird Reserve Leighton Moss, is only a mile outside the village, next to the Golf Club. Local Historic properties include Sizergh Castle, Lancaster Castle, Leighton Hall, Levens Hall and Holker Hall and Car Museum. A short drive away you have: Kirby Lonsdale and the Yorkshire Dales, Kendal and the Lake District, or even Blackpool and the Illuminations.

From the Hall you enter into the spacious open-plan lounge and kitchen. The kitchen is fully equiped with a gas hob, electric double oven, fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. The lounge has a 32' flat screen TV, CD/Radio and log effect gas fire. The conservatory has a dining suite for six people. From here french doors open into the private garden. Outside there is patio furniture and a BBQ for alfresco dining.

A winding staircase leads to the first floor. The lovely ensuite bedroom has a king-size and single bed. The cosy double bedroom and single bedroom share the family bathroom. The cottage has full central heating and can sleep two - six people. There is off road parking for two vehicles.

Golf:

Silverdale Golf Course is only a mile from the cottage.

Wonderful weekend break

We stayed at The Limes over a weekend and wished we could have stayed for longer. The cottage is comfortable and cosy and the owners very friendly and helpful. The kitchen is fully equippped with everything you could need and the conservatory dining room is delightful. Everywhere is beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean. Great area for walks .We would certainly recommend it and we definitely hope to stay again soon.

Comfort in a beautiful part of the country

A lovely property - very well equipped. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. Plenty of space - especially liked the large entrance hall which was very useful for walking boots etc. The kitchen had everything you could wish for and the beds and sofas were very comfortable. We enjoyed eating in the dining conservatory and also made use of the gas fire for cosy nights in on chilly evenings. We walked from the door most days - plenty of places of interest around the village plus an easy walk to RSPB Leighton Moss. Good pubs and tea rooms in the village plus co-op, butchers and bakery made for easy selfcatering. Further afield - Morecambe and the Lakes are a short drive away. Would definitely recommend this property and hope to return.

Well presented welcoming cottage

Warm welcome from owners on arrival. Clean, beautifully presented & spacious cottage, with everything you'd need for a week away (although headroom in en-suite is limited).
Rained a lot while we were there, but plenty to do fairly locally to keep the kids amused, and always nice to get back to the cottage on an evening.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Excellent accommodation, very friendly local shops & pubs. Great walks nearby and within easy reach of the Lake District.
Beds really comfortable and every facility available.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
