You can walk out from the scullery onto the terrace, and drink the bounty of the fragrant, contained, private garden, busy with summer vegetables and flowers that are yours for the picking. Eat your meals in the warm west light, and rest deeply.
There are two staircases - from the kitchen into the guest room, and from the living room into the master bedroom. There is a tremendous silence here, a great tranquility in the country, and a deep, dark night sky full of stars. Boulangerie, grocery stores, markets, day trips - all a close drive.
