Visit the thermal spas of Alet-les-Bain and Rennes-les-Bain. Approximately 10km away these thermal spas dating back to the Romans are well-known for their health-giving properties. Unraval the mysteries surrounding the infamous Rennes-le-Chateau seen from the villa. Visit ancient sites, chateaus, caves and Cathar castles. Explore on foot or on bicicle. The Montagne Noir (Black Mountains) and Pyrennes, gorges, forests and rivers are all on your doorstep. Don't miss Galamus Gorge. For wine lovers you have Minervois, Corbieres and Fitou which help make the region the biggest wine producer in France. You must try the French Champagne (Blanquette) which is made locally in Limoux. Explore the market towns of Bram, Castlenaudry, Mirepoix, Revel and of course Carcassonne. Take a boat trip on the Canal du Midi from Carcassonne. Canoeing and whitewater rafting available along the river Aude as well as fishing. Beaches are only 1 hour away.

The living area is open plan and ideal for socialising. During the summer months the outside area is ideal for lazing around the pool and eating breakfast, lunch and dinner with the compulsory glass of wine. Who needs to go out when you have the sun, food, fine wine and good company. During the summer the house is cool and the patio pool area is south facing and sheltered. It gets pretty hot but you have the pool to cool off. The pool has a heater but during the summer months June to august you wont need it. Our house is located in a pretty and friendly village. The village shop keeper is wonderfull very friendly and sociable. With a name like Fab what more would you expect? Just a short drive (5 mins) is the small town of Limoux with a small amount exclusive shops. The square with coffee bars and restaurants. During the summer months there is always something going on. Friday morning is market day and Thursday evenings during the summer is the night market.

Every weekend during Jan Feb and Mar is carnival time in Limoux. Short drive from our village to the village of Alaigne is our local Welsh Bar Cafe Galloise. They regularly hold theme nights. We have had many good nights out there. Routes we use: East Midlands - Carcassonne 1/2 hr Bristol - Bezier 1hr 20 mins Stanstead - Carcassonne Bournmouth - Carcassonne Bristol - Gerona 2 hrs Several Perpignon 1hr Easyjet: Bristol - Toulouse 1 hr Ferry: Portsmouth - Le Harve L D Lines This has been the best ferry service for us on price and convenience. Carcassone medieval city. Carcassone Plage, swimming, boating, activity centre and crazy golf. Canoe and pedal boats Limoux.

very pleasently surprised. exceeded all our expectations. very comfortable accommodation with a superb heated pool right in front of
house but sheltered and private. good country village situation but
with shop(fresh baguettes every morning for breakfast). Right in the heart of the wine country and close to many varied and historic sights.excellent facilities in house . good modern kitchen and very comfortable beds.
full sky TV including sports and films, Owner very friendly and helpful,good value, will definitely go again andrecommend to friends.I could go on about the excellent restaurants but too mant to list.

I stayed at this house for 1 week (July 2009). Had a brilliant time.

The house is very clean, well equipped and the kids loved the swimming pool. Would recommend to anyone and will be going back next year!
