Deal is an historic market town which has its own castle built for King Henry 8th within walking distance and further castles near by at Walmer, Dover and Sandwich. It has endless winding streets which have many quaint buildings and the area is steeped in smuggling lore. To visit Deal is to step back in time and yet it also offers all the amenities of a modern town, excellent restaurants and pubs plus a wide range of shops and a huge choice of outdoor activities.

Deal pier has won awards for the great fishing it offers and the newly renovated pier end restaurant offers customers the chance to sit and enjoy their meal looking over the sea. There are spectacular walks to be taken along the sea front and up the cliffs towards St Margaret's and Dover. Watersports are available in Deal, sailing, rowing and windsurfing are very popular. The Telegraph has just voted Deal No 1 in Top Spots To Lay Your Towel. The long beach is rarely busy and is a wonderful place from which to swim and paddle.

New Year stay in Deal

Review Submitted: January 5, 2012 Date of Stay: December 2011
A very comfortable, cosy home from home with an exceptionally well equipped and spacious kitchen - great for cooking a family new year's eve dinner! Towels, linen etc were good quality and there were thoughtful extra touches such as torches in the rooms. The shops and Deal beach were within very easy walking distance.
Owner's Response: We are pleased that our guests enjoyed celebrating the New Year in our home.

Wonderful Time

Review Submitted: November 28, 2011 Date of Stay: October 2011
We stayed (Myself, wife and young son) at the Dover holiday house for a week and had a wonderful time. Walking distance to Deal Town, the beach and a very well stocked Co-Op supermarket, we found the house wonderfully warm and cosy.
The house its self was well equipped with a very modern kitchen, open gas fires and smoke/carbon monoxide alarms in every room. The garden although compact was ideal for our young son who you could keep an eye on from the kitchen window and big enough to sit out in with a glass of wine in the evening.
Days out to Broadstairs and Sandwich a short drive away made it a week to remember.
Owner's Response: We are so pleased that our guests enjoyed their stay in our house. Deal is a great place to visit for a short break as well as for a longer stay; there is so much to see and do both locally and within a short journey.

A cosy cottage in the fog

Review Submitted: January 10, 2011 Date of Stay: December 2010
This cottage is very comfortable and it has all the necessary equipment one can need. The house is well maintained and spotless. The 'welcome pack' - ie tea, coffee, toasts and butter - was well appreciated as we arrived on a bank holiday. The description of the location, facilities and so on are pretty accurate and reliable.
Deal itself is a very pleasant place to be for a quiet stay, and the locals are quite friendly too - go to the pub around the corner on Duke St.
Deal is an ideal location from which one can visit Kent: Canterbury, Dover or Rochester are within easy driving distance.
As we came over at the end of the year, we were not able to take full advantage of the beach as the water was pretty cold, but the sea-side was still a pleasant place to go for walks with the children.
I have already recommended this cottage to some of our friends as everything went so smoothly, from the booking and the payment to the stay itself. For people crossing from the continent to Dover, Deal is quickly reached and the house is easily found. Overall, I will go back there myself in Summer to see what it is like in the Sun!

Amazing, charming house!

Review Submitted: January 7, 2011 Date of Stay: December 2010
My stay (with 4 other friends) here was nothing short of amazing. From the initial information, and the ease that we were able to get the keys from the owners to the amazing facilities and lovely bedrooms, I was very happy and pleasantly surprised with this property. Property was very clean and the kitchen very very well equipped! Only regret is that we didn't get to try out the barbeque as it was snowing...but despite being cooped in the house due to the bad weather, the games, movies and books kept us well entertained.

The proximity to the train station and Sainsbury was also very useful. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone especially if you are looking for a nice relaxing trip away from the city.
