3 bedroom, 3 bath house 1 mile from great beach

New architect designed detached luxury lodge set in large enclosed gardens 1 mile from the fantastic sweep of sand at Druridge Bay. We are adjacent to Druridge Bay Country Park with its water sports, beautiful walks and play areas. Lodge is perfect for family holidays and is very child-friendly with a pirate themed wooden playhouse, large grassed area and lots of garden games. Great walking, cycling and bird-watching is on your doorstep. Short drive to Warkworth, Amble and Alnmouth. Set on the outskirts of a small village along a street of 10 other individually designed wooden houses. Well behaved dog welcome.

1 mile from Druridge Bay Beach-huge, clean and often deserted even in summer it is a perfect child's beach. Great for sandcastles, safe bathing and rock pools at low tide. You can walk for miles along its length with great views of Coquet Island and it's lighthouse. We are across the road from Druridge Bay Country Park which has a lake with many birds and lovely walks. Watersports are available and there is a cafe and 2 children's play areas.

We are 3 miles from Amble with it's harbour, market various shops and new indoor swimming pool with child's pool. We are a short drive to Warkworth with it's beautiful medieval castle, river walks and quirky shops. Half an hour brings you to Alnwick with it's award winning gardens and Harry Potter castle. Bamburgh, Seahouses, Craster and Holy Island are approx 30 miles north of us with good road links

Additional information about rental rates

  • Low season 1st October to 31st March we accept short break bookings in low season only. These must run from 4pm Friday to 10am Monday (weekend break) or 4pm Monday to 10am Friday (midweek break). Each break is priced at £250. If you book the full week Friday to Friday the price is reduced to £400 for the week. This excludes school holidays and the xmas/new year period.

    Rates vary during mid and high season from £300 to £800 per week, we will happily quote you for your chosen week and often offer discounts for late/early bookings and a 10% discount if you have stayed with us before.

Notes: We are very keen that families can enjoy the house together-if the kids are happy you can relax! We have a high chair, step, Mamas and Papas travel cot, stair gates at top and bottom of stairs;large selection of plastic plates, cups, bowls and cutlery. More to your children's delight we have lots of toys, games, books, dressing up clothes, garden games and even their own wooden pirate themed playhouse in the garden. Beds made on arrival including good quality bedlinen, plenty of pillows and duvets and all towels included in price as are all light and heating costs and unlimited WiFi use. Dogs This is perfect dog-walking country. The beach alone stretches for enough miles to wear out the most energetic pooch and has great views of Coquet Island and the lighthouse for the humans. We are happy to accept well-behaved dogs but do confine them to the kitchen/utility area of the house.

Purpose built Lodge which has 3 large bedrooms-2 with king size beds and 1 twin. Downstairs we have a large deck leading to the kitchen which is well fitted with quality appliances and everything the cook needs including Smeg range, dishwasher and microwave. Large handmade table for family meals and a sofa to chat to the cook. Leading into utility area with washing machine and drinks cooler and selection of children's toys and books and high chair. The large hallway leads into the lounge with big comfy leather sofas, TV with Freeview and DVD player, CD Player with iPod dock. Free WiFi connection, desk and chair and local maps and guides. There is a downstairs shower room and toilet and a coat cupboard with large selection of outdoor and beach items.

Upstairs we have the master suite with king size sleigh bed, large balcony with deckchairs, fitted wardrobes, 42' wall mounted plasma TV with Freeview, en-suite shower room with multi-jet shower. Mamas & Papas Travel Cot.

Second double has a king size bed, with unusual light feature and wardrobe. Third bedroom has twin wooden beds, wardrobe, TV with video player and lots of films for children and adults. The family bathroom leads off the landing and has a large Velux window making it very light. It has a bath with a shower over, sink and toilet. The whole house has a feeling of light and space which the Scandinavians do best, with clean wooden floors throughout, lots of large windows white bedlinen and towels and a selection of local art. You can relax after a hard days sightseeing in our home from home.

DRURIDGE BAY LODGE

THIS IS MY THIRD TIME STAYING AT THIS WONDERFUL LOG CABIN AND ALREADY BOOKED AGAIN FOR NEXT YEAR. THIS TIME WAS THE FIRST TIME I BROUGHT MY KIDS FOR A FAMILY GET AWAY FOR CHRISTMAS. THE ACTIVITIES FOR MY CHILDREN KEPT THEM WELL ENTERTAINED. THE HOUSE IS EQUIPPED WITH EVERY THING YOU NEED FOR A RELAXING GET AWAY. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY. Really relaxing!

Our family has just returned from our second visit to Druridge Bay Lodge. Sharon and Paul have provided everything you could need for a relaxing break (including wine on arrival.)
There is a brand new power shower in the master suite which is wonderful. The kitchen is well equipped and a great place to spend family time together.
For families with young children there are plenty of toys and books to occupy them during your stay.
The property is fresh, clean and spacious and you start to feel relaxed as soon as you arrive.The bedrooms are all lovely and really comfortable.
The nearby country park and Druridge Bay beach provide wonderful walks for dog owners and fantastic scenery. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a great base to explore the north east coast and some time away from a hectic lifestyle.

Loved our holiday at this lodge

We spent a week at this lodge June 2010. From the booking of the holiday right to the end of the holiday it was plain sailing. Owners were in touch throughout and we were grateful that they allowed us to bring both our dogs. The lodge itself is stunning. The pictures do not do it justice. The owners have thought of everything to ensure your stay is carefree and have left information which can allow you to have as much adventure as you wish. From the pirates cabin within the safe grounds of the lodge to rock pools and places to eat. The guest book has nothing but praise for the owners and the little things they do to make your stay amazing such as the easter bunny and egg hunts to christmas trees and welcomes with stottie bread. We spend most of our time at the beach and rock pools with the dogs (who are knackered) and time spent at the lodge was relaxing either within the lodge , balcony or out in the lovely garden. Shame we were not good enough cooks to make the most of the herb garden. However asda did deliver our home shopping. Whats not to love. we cant wait to come back. Brining our parents with us next time as this is the type of holiday they would love too.

Winter weekend away

Our party consisted of four adults and two children, this property provided ample space both upstairs and down for 6. The accommodation is kitted out to a high standard with every detail thought of!! Extremely comfortable, and clean, but somehow still giving off a feeling of luxury in a very relaxed and homely environment.

We visited the Alnwick Gardens while staying which was a short 25 min drive through very picturesque countryside and villages. Unfortunatally the harry potter castle is closed during the winter months which disappointed the children on our party somewhat, and would have benefited us to know beforehand.

I would recommend this property to friends looking at visiting the area, annd certainly consider a holiday there again, Perhaps in the months when the weather slightly warmer this time!!

A fault-less holiday home - highly recommended

I have already been recommending this beautiful holiday home to friends and family. I can't think of anybody it would not suit.
It certainly has the WOW factor, from the size of the property, to the decor, to the toys, books, facilities, garden, special little touches from the owners and ideal location.
I recommend visiting the local beach at Druridge bay, which is within walking distance or 2 minutes by car.
I cannot praise this holiday home enough. We are hoping to visit again in 2010 if all the dates don't get snapped up that is.
The owners should be very proud of their family home.
