Rent our lovely apartment in Almunecar! It has three bedrooms, a big terrace, large pool, and fantastic views of the sea and mountains. Walk 5 minutes to the beach, shops and restaurants in this quiet area of Almuñecar. The apartment is one hour´s drive from Malaga or Granada airports, and is easy to find from the main road, although it is far enough from the road to be quiet and overlooks the sea and hills. The apartment has a large terrace overlooking the hills and the Costa Tropical, a well-equipped kitchen, three double bedrooms and two bathrooms. In the living room there is seating for six people and satellite TV showing British, French, German and Spanish TV channels. The apartment is conveniently located for Playa Tesorillo, one of the Costa Tropical`s nicest and friendliest beaches, and there you will find a variety of bars (chiringuitos) and restaurants to suit all tastes. The apartment enjoys good access to the main road motorway connections to Malaga and Granada.

With the sun burning bright on most days of the year, sightseeing in and around Almuñécar is a pleasure. Most of the town's monuments are from the Phoenician, Roman and Moorish eras - the Castle and the fish-salting works. Other principal attractions are the weekly market, the main seafront, which has become a very attractive promenade, the water park, ideal for kids of all ages, and the Bird Park, engagingly called Parque Loro-Sexi. Local car hire is available to visit the Tropical Valley and explore some of the dramatic local countryside, including the Rio Verde and Seco river valleys and the Peña Escrita nature reserve. The Moorish Castle is built on Roman foundations, what remains is mostly from the Arab and Christian eras. It contains an interesting museum as well as offers excellent views of the beach and town. Not far from the Castle is the small but impressive Archaeological Museum.

The apartment has three bedrooms sleeping up to five people (extra bed for sixth person by prior arrangement), two bathrooms, a fitted kitchen with cooker, fridge-freezer, washing machine and hot water heater, and a large dining/living room leading onto a large part-shaded terrace where you can eat al fresco and gaze at the view, including hang-gliders drifting down from the hills. The bedrooms are furnished with fitted wardrobes, bedside tables, reading lights and they comprise one double bed, a twin and a single. There is a portable music centre and a TV/DVD if you want to bring your own entertainment with you. Apart from the beach, which is five minutes walk away (down the hill) and has two pleasant chiringuitos, there is also a large pool for the exclusive use of the complex. The pool is open end of June to the middle of September.

Taramay is a pleasant area with its own restaurants, shops and beach bars. There is a four star hotel nearby which has health and fitness facilities and a bar with live music, and there are more night time entertainments and fiestas nearby in the town centre. Tesorillo is a beach which feels exclusive and secluded. It attracts families during the day but has a more bohemian feel in the evening; there are four beach bars/restaurants within easy reach, as well as the famous Iguana Playa beach restaurant which is just five minutes walk away.

This is a spacious apartment which accommodated me and several friends with ease. Tesorillo beach is very nice, there are two bar-restaurants in the cove and several more either side a short walk away, all of which seem friendly and have a good ambience. The apartment is well equipped and clean, and the directions we were given were very good. The owner was there to greet us anyway and show us how things worked.

The apartment has two bathrooms and everything seemed to be clean and in working order. We didnt notice any disturbance at night as you so often find with apartments near the beach in the middle of summer.

The best feature of the apartment is the terrace. It is part shaded to cope with the heat of the midday sun and in the evening the lighto on the foothills falling away to the coastline is just magical. Sometimes you can see hang-gliders gently drifting down to land on the beach and this is always a nice thing to watch.

The apartment is only 5 minutes walk to the beach but the climb back is a bit steep. If you feel lazy you can take the car down to the lower gate and park there, as the urbanisation is controlled by security gates, so there is less competition for parking spaces than along the beach road generally in high summmer.

It isnt central Almunecar but there are plenty of places to eat and buy things within a short walk of the apartment. Getting in to the centre of Almunecar is either a very pleasant walk along the seafront or else a hopper bus along the same road, or of course by car if you have one. There are plenty of parking spaces nearer to town.
