Waverley Place is situated in the quiet, picturesque village of Upper Largo, located only nine miles from St Andrews. Golf in nearby proximity includes the OPEN qualifying courses of Lundin Links & Leven Bank; with others (Elie, Anstruther, Crail, Kingsbarns, and St Andrews) located between four and ten miles.

Lower Largo (the birthplace of Robinson Crusoe), the beach and access to the Fife Coastal Path linking the East Neuk's many popular seaside villages is only a few minutes walk from the property, with access to numerous other local walking routes including Largo Law within easy reach. Fresh fish can be purchased locally throughout the year (Live lobster / crab can also be purchased at reasonable rates at most times. Please enquire.) Popular local activities include fishing and sailing in Lower Largo. A modern indoor swimming facility complete with a wave pool and slides is located nearby in Leven town centre along the esplanade. Windsurfing, paddle boats, and sailing are available during the summer months in Elie, 4 miles. There is a well-appointed RSPB nature centre overlooking Loch Leven at Vane Farm. The centre has an observation room, a nature trail, and a hide by the shore overlooking a bird-watching “scrape” (a shallow pool).
