Situated in the small medieaval hilltop village of Castico approx 1 hour north of Lucca this location is a perfect opportunity to sample real village life with a peaceful backdrop. The village which has cobbled streets, pretty properties and wondrous views at every turn, even boasts a good restaurant, where one can eat home cooked traditional food at cheap prices either inside, or al fresco... There is a station within a 5 minute drive for easy exploring of the local area, and there is also plenty of opportunity for walking. The village of Camporgiano with its still inhabited castle, Monday morning market and bars/restaurants, small supermarket and train station is only a 2km drive. Around 20 mins is the local market town of Castelnuovo. Casatico is a perfectly located village for exploring the Garfagnana.
