Photos and Description of this County Clare holiday house Lake side cottage with splendid views.

Beautiful well equipped house situated in the picturesque village of Mountshannon on Lough Derg. The house has 3 bedrooms (1 Ensuite) and 2 bathrooms. The kitchen includes electric equipment such as an oven, cooker with 4 rings, microwave oven and washing machine. A barbecue is also available and a boat may be provided under special arrangements. The house has its own private boat mooring just a hundred paces from the house. Mountshannon has beautiful scenic views and boat trips are available to the monastic ruins on Holy Island. Lough Derg is famous for its trout fly fishing and fish such as pike, perch and bream are also in abundant supply. Mountshannon has excellent swimming amenities and a life guard is on duty during the summer holiday period. Cruising, sailing, canoeing,water skiing are all popular activities on the lake. For walkers the ' East Clare Way ' is right on the door step. The picturesque village has pubs/hotel which provide good food, drink and musical entertainment.

  • Additional information about rental rates -
    A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required at time of booking.
    Remaining balance including security deposit payable 4 weeks prior to arrival.
    Cancellations 2-4 weeks prior to arrival will be charged at 50% or within 2 weeks at 100% of the agreed rental.
    We accept bank transfer, bank drafts payable in Euro, and Paypal.
    A security deposit of €300 will be added to your invoice and refunded within 30 day of departure.
    Monthly rentals are available at 3 times the weekly rate (1 week free) for the period. e.g. the month of September is €2000.
    Electricity costs are additional.

Mountshannon Cottage

We recently spent a couple of weeks at Mountshannon Cottage. The location is ideal for sightseeing around central,southern and western Ireland. There are pubs,restaurants and a grocer/ deli a short walk of the Cottage. It's ideal for an evening walk around the village and down to the marina to see the cruisers. We recommend hireing a skiff to cruise Lough Derg, The cottage has pleasant views from all windows and is comfortable. The owners could'nt have been more helpful and accommodating.
