Holiday in Lucca. Our sweet retreat

Lucca is a true jewel in Tuscany's crown, and, what's more, very few people seem to know about it. This means that while the queue for Firenze's Duomo is already 3 hours long at 9.30, Lucca's streets are almost deserted by that time of day. After a few days, the neighborhood baker knows you by name (almost).
Deemed "worth the journey" by the Green Michelin, this city has no Michelangelos, no Tintorettos or other masterpieces. Instead, it offers one of the most unspoilt 15-17th century cityscapes in Tuscany; tourist buses and their occupants are blissfully absent.
In the middle of this, adjacent to the main shopping street, is I PICCIONI, where we spent 10 happy days before and after Easter 2009. Its location, its front and back views, and excellent amenities - 1 1/2 baths, wonderful kitchen, spaceful bedrooms and tastfully appointed living room - makes I PICCIONI a wonderful, relaxed base of operations in one of the quieter corners of Tuscany (with Pisa a 20-minute drive, and Firenze just 35 minutes away).
Highly recommended, not in the least because of the excellent and thoughtful service by the owners. They paid great attention to all our needs in a very professional and caring way. Thank you friends!
Owner's Response: We did all the best to let you enjoy your stay. Thanks a lot. Hope to see you in the next future!
