Delightful Apartment in Aix

This lovely modern apartment at Aquaesextiae was ideal for three of us wishing to explore Aix en Provence. From collecting us at the TGV station onwards, the owner, Maryline had really thought of everything we might need to make our stay easy and comfortable: beautiful décor… basic food staples in the kitchen included real coffee & the bathroom was as well stocked as any good hotel. A bonus was free use of the phone; we needed to phone the UK unexpectedly, so this facility at the apartment was brilliant & saved mobile bills. The week we stayed there was music in the streets every evening, starting with the Festival of Music Night on June 21st which happens all over France: totally unexpected and so exciting.
Recommend you get your bearings by taking a walking tour (available in English) from Tourist Office at La Rotonde, then explore and fall in love with this town of 100 fountains. We did!
Restaurants are plentiful and cater for most pockets: we enjoyed a rustic meal at The Sallé a Manger just off La Rotonde into the Old Town near Place des Augustines (close to here is a good baker that's open on Sunday mornings) and had a memorable meal at La Chimera. Lunches were enjoyed in open air restaurants or we bought wonderful produce at the old town market, the flat is close enough to return to for delicious al fresco lunches before an afternoon of exploration.
Thank you so much, we’ve already recommended the apartment to several friends.
Owner's Response: Thanks so much for this review, I'm proud you liked Aix and our appartement. Perhaps another time !!!!
