Photos and Description of this Apt holiday villa
Located in the Luberon Park, the farm is surrounded by hundred-year-old oak tree
Located in the Luberon Park, the farm is surrounded by hundred-year-old oak trees and a stream, with a bird's-eye view onto 13 hectares of wheat fields, meadows and the Luberon mountain. Under the purest sky in Europe (Saint Michel de l'Observatoire), Le Mas de la Plaine promises the calm and discretion hoped for on a holiday break.
This old 17th century sheepfold of 400m² has been restored in full respect of the authenticity and the style of Provence. The visible stones of the walls and floors, the high beamed ceilings, the whitewashed Roussillon oak wood floors, the old stone fireplace, offer a place of warm, serene life which is above all extremely comfortable. The large shaded terrace which gives onto the garden is ideal for breakfast.
Situated in the heart of the Great Luberon National Park, the village is set on the highest part of this mountainous chain. Cereste is crossed by the Via Domitia, a road traced by the Romans to link Rome to Spain. Old fountains, a Roman chapel, the "Grand Clapier" ramparts built by the Celts, historical vestiges such as the Carluc priory (shelter to pilgrims on the way to Compostelle), are part of the countryside's many attractions without forgetting the footpaths, horse riding, cycle routes, the caves and rock faces for climbing. At Saint Michel de l'Observatoire, situated 15km form Cereste, you can admire the purest sky in Europe, the contrasted lands of Provence and Haute Provence, the luminosity of the Lure Mountain and the Mont Ventoux, the splendour of the Alps and the Verdon and Oppedette gorges.
