High quality accommodation consists of an extremely large studio with kitchenette, lounge, bed area and with a beautiful en-suite bathroom with shower, marble floors, granite shelves and high spec fittings. The kitchenette includes a fridge, hob and cooker with a small table and chairs for dining. The 1 Bed Apartment has wooden flooring and a separate lounge, kitchen and bedroom. Can sleep 5. Locally, there is excellent shopping, a shopping centre and conveniently located for Hampstead and busy Camden. Street Parking outside the property is free. This apartment contains a large double bedroom, a very good sized lounge with a three piece suite TV etc. Then there is a very large kitchen diner, with a table that can sit 6 people. The kitchen has granite worktops, two ovens, a microwave, fridges and freezers and is very well equipped. Catering is easy in this kitchen and you will find everything you need for cooking. There is a bathroom with an excellent shower and toilet. There is a simple garden with a lawn and patio allowing you to sit outside, weather permitting. Smoking is strictly forbidden inside the building, but the garden is a comfortable area to smoke.

Additional information about rental rates

  • The deposit for a Holiday Let is £200. The deposit will be returned upon departure after return of the keys, less the cleaning charge and any reduction for damage and breakages etc.
    The deposit for longer stays will be at the owners discretion.
  • Payment of the price is required in cash upon arrival, for the whole agreed amount.

    Check in time is 3.30pm, unless an earlier time is agreed.
    Check out time is 10am. A later check out is possible, depending on whether new guests will be arriving on the same day, for a small charge.

    The Rental Rates are for 2 people. A supplement of £25 per person per week will be applied in excess of 2 people staying.
  • The cleaning charge is:
    - £20 for 1 person staying.
    - £35 for 2 people staying
    - £45 for 3 or more people staying.
    The cleaning charge will be deducted from the deposit upon departure.

    The owner is not liable for the visitors personal belongings whilst in or out of the property. Please ensure that you have travel insurance which includes adequate cover for your own personal belongings.

    The internet charge is £10 per week.

General Area of Finchley Central: It is a very clean and tidy apartment and it is in the London suburb called Finchley which is a very safe and nice area. It is located in a quiet residential road away from passing traffic or train noise. In terms of amenities, the apartment is approximately 4 minutes walk to West Finchley tube station and there are a few shops including a sweet shop and a small supermarket where you can buy the basics. Then, about 10 minutes walk (or there are bus services from the top of the road), there is Finchley Central or North Finchley which has Tesco’s, Waitrose and Sainsbury's supermarkets. They also have the full range of banks and building societies. North Finchley has more extensive shopping facilities including a very wide range of general shops, cafes and restaurants and should be able to cater for all of your needs.

Facilities and local bus: The apartments are very well situated in West Finchley only minutes from the underground station which takes you straight into central London without changing. It is 25 minutes from Kings Cross (approx 2.5 hours from Paris!!). There are also buses at the top of my road and excellent shopping facilities nearby. If you decided to hire a car there are no parking restrictions or parking charges as there would be in central London, as you can park for free outside the house. About 15-20 minutes by bus from top of road is Brent Cross shopping centre in Hendon which has all of the main shops including John Lewis, Marks and Spencer and all of the mainstream fashion shops and well known high street chains and has extensive options of places to eat. This is an enclosed shopping centre (and so you don't have to worry about the weather) and there is a bus (the 326) which runs from the top of my road (1-2 minute walk) and takes you directly to the shopping centre where it terminates.

Within easy Reach by Tube: Hampstead on the Northern Line has a vast choice on offer. It is an extremely pretty suburb of London. On one side it has countless restaurants, cafés, bars, cinemas, pancakes, shops and theatre and on the other side it has Hampstead Heath with breathtaking views of London, a teahouse in an old English mansion and beautiful walks through very pretty parkland. This is one of the prettiest parks in North London. This is one of the most expensive and exclusive suburbs of London and I find it very pleasurable just walking through some of the residential areas to see the houses, many of which are absolutely fabulous (I can dream!). Just a stop away from Hampstead is Belsize Park (but is also a pleasant walk from Hampstead) which is a very pleasant up market area with many restaurants. Then another stop away on the underground is the well known district of Camden. This is home to the very famous Camden Lock Market, which has a vast array of stalls and shops on offer and is very near.

This apartment was perfect for 2 people visiting London. It is very close to the underground Train station and a short walk to stores and places to eat. The apartment is clean and comfortable. We had access to a washing machine, dryer and the internet.

The only drawback was poor lighting to sit and read in the evenings.

Wonderful stay

My husband and I spent a fantastic week in London, staying in this Finchley apartment. The property was immaculate and very well maintained and every need was catered for. The apartment was very well equipped, and everything worked perfectly. The kitchen was really well-furnished, with every appliance one could need. The owner had also very thoughtfully thrown in essential supplies, like tea, coffee, salt, pepper, oil, herbs, etc, which we found quite unusual but which helped us a lot, as we didn’t need to go shopping immediately on arrival and we really appreciated this measure of hospitality. The linen for bed and bath was of excellent quality. We used the washing machine twice without a hitch. A bright, clean flat welcomed us 'home' each night. It was great to spread out and have our own space in the spacious bedroom, living-room and extremely well-lit and well-furbished kitchen. The bathroom consisted of a powerful temperature controlled shower in a spacious enclosure, which was a delight to use.
We found the beds to be very comfortable and had no trouble sleeping. The locality is very peaceful. The cable T.V. and Wi-Fi worked very well, and helped us to keep in touch with our families. The tube was a mere 5 minute walk. The heating was excellent and a blessing in the cold. The fact that there were no stairs was also a plus after a long day of sight seeing. Perhaps the only thing that could have added to our stay was a telephone. I would like to thank Joy and Isaac the House Managers, the couple who live upstairs, for helping to make our stay so enjoyable.

Renters Beware!

If you are renting, make sure you get someone to see the apartment first so you will not be disappointed. The general housekeeping was very poor, grime in the oven, spider webs, the house was just not clean. We had to make a lot of fuss to get the house cleaned. And even afetr getting the cleaner to come twice it was just to a manageable level. We did not have a fridge to use for the first 5 days and with a baby and a preschooler this was not nice at all. There was no DVD player as listed in the website. The fridge, freezer and cupboards had leftovers from previous guests and it was sure that they are not cleaned when a guest leaves. I was afraid the kids will catch something from playing freely in the house and so my crawling baby did not have much freedom. The oven had at least a year of grime. I spent the first night trying to clean this out and eventually decided not to use the thing at all. I had to sterilize my baby's bottles using a pot! The only nice thing was the space even though the room was cluttered with a lot of unnecessary furniture. But with the level of housekeeping the space did not mean much. The garden? definately not tendered, children can definately not play there. For the amount of money the apartment is going for, you need to be sure of what you are getting... Due to all the inconveniences we asked for some discount from the house owner but he was ridiculous in his proposal, Spiders living in english houses was the excuse for all the cobwebs!!! We ended up not even taking the money because it was not about the money... but the standard was poor and we did not want it to happen again. I hope the house owners had a change of heart after our stay. This is just a summary, but.... staying at this apartment put a downside to our nicely planned holiday in london!
Owner's Response: Since we started just over a year ago I have had approximately 100 happy clients, some that have returned to stay with me again. We would like to reply to comments which we do not feel were justified.

This Nigerian family rented my Ground Floor apartment. Unfortunately, I did have a problem with my fridge, which I replaced with secondary fridge almost immediately and then a brand new fridge after a couple of days. The family then wanted an extortionate discount for some lost food and I tried to come to a reasonable compromise with them.

However, the head of the family was uncompromising and set about to find complaint about everything, even though unjustified, just because I would not agree to his ploy to reduce the price. I do try and keep my visitors happy and did provide extra cleaning and a brand new fridge, but nothing that I did was ever good enough, unless I gave in to his monetary demands. The family also damaged some plasterwork to my walls, but I didn't make an issue of this and returned the full deposit to them.

I am now faced with this ridiculous review which is totally factually false and has been placed in an effort to destroy my business. This man complained so much that he made life very difficult for myself, my House Managers and my other guests who were also very irritated by his continued protestations. Our motto is always that the customer is right. We were very relieved when he went, to say the least.

We really try our best to make our guests feel as comfortable as possible and care deeply that they have a relaxing happy holiday here. We go out of our way to make them feel at home and offer clean homely surroundings. It is our ambition to make people want to come back again and stay with us.

We hope that future guests will not be deterred by these unfavourable comments. This is one malicious review compared to a hundred satisfied and happy guests.
