Situated on a hilltop close to the medieval village of St Paul de Vence this spacious villa has a spectacular panoramic view from the mountains to the sea. It is located within a private gated domain with a (shared) south facing swimming pool and private covered parking. The historic and beautiful village of St Paul, renowned for its art galleries and the famous Colombe d'Or restaurant, is within walking distance. Skiing in the Alps is 80km away. The villa has been charmingly restored, with master bedroom, one double bedroom and one twin, all with French windows leading on to the private terrace with its magnificent views. There are steps leading down to a further terrace with planted borders. The living area is light and spacious with cream leather sofa and separate sofa bed; TV, DVD player and storage. There is a dining area with seating for 6 people, which is situated next to the open fitted kitchen. There is a main bathroom, shower room and separate WC.

Only 10-15 minutes drive from Nice airport, St Paul is a beautiful fortified medieval village 'perche' situated on a hilltop with stunning views, and home to the famous Colombe d'Or restaurant which displays original art work by Chagall, Matisse, Picasso and others. The area is popular with artists attracted by the extraordinary light quality, and the renowned Fondation Maeght art museum is a short walk away. Domaine du Piol is an excellent base from which to explore Nice and Antibes, Cannes (20 min), Monaco (40), St Tropez (90) and the surrounding picturesque villages of Vence, Tourrettes sur Loup and Mougins. Beaches are a short drive away, and in the winter skiing at Greolieres is only 40 minutes away; the international ski resort of Isola 2000 is 80km.

Our family had a fabulous holiday in this villa. It is well equipped with extra's such as table tennis,DVD's, Books and board games. The pool was very handy, not busy and had plenty of sun loungers and brollies. The location was good for looking around the surrounding area and visiting the coast, although we did find the restaurants a little pricey. The villa is set in a quiet, private location which we found to be very relaxing. I would happily recommend this villa to my friends.

Lovely villa for perfect family holiday

On the edge of St Paul de Vence but away from the tour buses and crowds the villa in Domaine du Piol was a great and quiet escape for our family. The pool is large (shared but generally not heavily used) and well kept with direct handrailed access from the villa's terrace. The terrace itself gets oodles of sun and is a lovely place to sit and catch some breeze on the warm evenings, plenty of shade for dining at the table outside.
Kitchen well equipped, loads of toys and games for the kids to play with. All clean and tidy on arrival, the owner very easy to liase with over sorting keys/directions etc.
We went as a family of 4 which worked great, you could comfortablt be a 6 in there but any more might feel a bit of a squash.
Worth exploring the neighbouring villas in the hills such as Tourettes sur Loup, Biot, etc, Nice is fab(old town especially), Marineland at Antibes is fantastic but be warned, it costs a flipping fortune.
Antibes old town great fun for supper out with kids - lots going on and lots of kids zooming around. Don't miss Fennochio in Nice old town for the best ice cream known to man.
Owner's Response: It's great when other people enjoy your property as much as you do. We always do our best to ensure there is plenty of communication prior to arrival and to try and be as helpful as possible so it is lovely to be appreciated.

We have owned the house for 6 years and as a family of 6 can honestly say that with three double bedrooms and two bathrooms we have never felt that it is "a bit of a squash", even in the winter when outside living isn't so easy (though still possible). The house is, in fact, the largest on the Domaine!

Just arrived back after spending 2 idealic weeks at the character villa in St Paul's de Vence. The villa is easy to drive to from Nice Airport, the directions were spot on. The villa is clean and has all the necessary equipment to make your holiday relaxing. The pool is easy accessable from the villa, the pool is kept very clean with plenty of sunbeds to chill out on. The location of the property is great for travelling around and visiting the many pretty villages in the area, only 5 mins to the motorway for trips further afield.
All in all a lovely property in a super area.
