This delightful detached Edwardian house is situated in a peaceful location in the village of Uplyme. A direct footpath leads to an attractive 20 minute riverside walk to Lyme Regis town and seafront. The property benefits from a spacious living room with wood burner, formal dining room and a large kitchen/breakfast room with Aga. Pitt White, a former Mill, dates back to the 16th century, it has been modernised to a very good standard, most bedrooms have en-suite or private facilities. A short walk from the main house, part of the accommodation is in a fully self contained cottage. With it's own fenced private patio garden it offers a quiet living space slightly away from the main house. Around 2 acres of delightful grounds include sunny terrace/patio areas and open lawn as well as wooded pathways. he river Lym runs through the garden & can be crossed by a small open footbridge. The unique and captivating charms of Lyme Regis have been attracting visitors for hundreds of years. A busy trading centre in Medieval times and one of the most important ports on the south coast in Tudor times, the town became a popular sea spa in the 18th century attracting Royalty and inspiring poets, writers and painters. Turner and Whistler both painted here and Jane Austen wrote Persuasion after her visit in the early 1800’s. More recently the town featured in John Fowles’ The French Lieutenant’s Woman. Lyme Regis sits at the heart of the spectacular and dramatic Jurassic Coast. This coastline is England’s first natural World Heritage Site and Lyme is an ideal base from which to explore its diverse geology and abundant wildlife. The River Lym, from which the town takes its name, winds lazily through the maze of narrow streets and shops and as you wander through the town you will find traditional pubs and tea rooms, modern restaurants, galleries and historic buildings.

We rented this house for my hen party and it was perfect.
The living space is very tastefully decorated and perfectly comfortable for large parties. It has a huge fantastic kitchen where we knocked up a massive meal - with 14 girls the kitchen needed to be sizeable!! The garden is on a differnt scale....perfectly maintained and huge. I highly recommend this house. It was absolutely fantastic and i'm hoping to go back there very soon.
