Nestled on the top of a peaceful hill overlooking the popular Spanish seaside and charming town of Almunecar, this is a perfect base for escaping it all and discovering the local area including many beautiful beaches, the whitewashed villages of Nerja/Frigiliana, the nearby marina and the beauty of the Alpujarras mountains/Sierra Nevada. Refreshingly relaxing, yet only five minutes from the bustle of Almunecar, 'Fuentes' is close to all amenities, including the local market for bargain hunting, and many excellent restaurants for eating out. The complex boasts a stunning infinity pool, a separate curved pool and fountains amongst landscaped gardens for 'chilling out'. Whilst the house itself borders an enchanting square and benefits from a private garden and spacious roof terrace furnished with a table, chairs, sun loungers and a BBQ. The kitchen is fitted with modern stainless steel appliances and the lounge has a combined TV/DVD/CD and satellite.

20 minutes walk away, there is the nearest beach but you are spoilt for choice with Almunecar boasting a selection of large beaches. 30 minutes walk from the house is the town centre of Almunecar with its excellent tapas bars and lively market. There is tennis and a waterpark for daytime activities. A 10 minute drive away is the upmarket marina which is great for eating out or sipping a glass of wine and is next to Herradura which offers a wide selection of watersports. The Alpujarras mountains is 40 minutes drive away and is a stunning mountainous area flanking the Sierra Nevada. Steep and narrow valleys overlooked by small villages. Activities include hiking, guided walks, horse trekking, 4x4 and parascending. Less than a hour away by car is Granada - a city with a wealth of historical monuments including the magnificent Alhambra Palace. For keen golfers, there is an excellent golf course 20 minutes drive away in Salobrena/Motril.

We stayed here in November 2008 and had a great week, with constant sunshine. The house was a fantastic base from which to explore the beaches of the coast, the Sierra Nevada mountains and the Alhambra in Granada. We enjoyed some good local meals, notably at the pretty Marina del Este on the way to La Herradura. The house itself was immaculate and perfect for us and our three year old daughter. The roof terrace was a real suntrap and we were very well looked after by the managing agents, who had left a welcome pack (wine, bread, cereal, milk, tea and coffee) which was much appreciated as we arrived late at night. The pools were closed as it was out of season, but with excellent beaches within walking distance this didn't matter. A car is pretty much essential as the house is located at the top of a steep hill, and although we missed being able to pop out for evening drinks, we made the most of the very reasonable lunchtime 'menus'. Almunecar is a lovely town which doesn't seem to have suffered too much from mass tourism - we visited the castle (good) and the bird park (a bit depressing) but had the best times just chilling out on the seafront. Would definitely recommend this for families and older couples - possibly a bit too remote and tranquil for those who are seeking lively nightlife. For us, a relaxing break and great to enjoy 25 degree temperatures at the end of November! Really good value for money.

This is a lovely property it is well kept clean and well maintained with all the comforts of home. Owner provides a good customer service with reliable pick up to property and plenty of information off things to do in the area.Good eating places on the beach front and in almunecar town, the tapas are great .The property is outside off almunecar and is on a very steep hill which well worth the climb a the views are fantastic. To sum it up the words, stunning views, relaxing, comfortable and quiet, and great for families. I'll be going back!

The property was excellent value for money and very modern. The managing agent cleaned it thoroughly (the best I've seen). The journey up to the house takes a bit of getting used to as it's on top of a windy steep hill. The views are breathtaking from the property which has both a large sun roof and a balcony and a small garden. There is building work going on around, so sometimes it's better to go to the beach which is a few minutes away, but quite gravelly.
The only other problem is that only one pool is open before the middle of June, so it becomes too crowded at Whitsun time. It was very peaceful in the evenings and although there were lots of people there, you only really saw them at the pool side. We had a very good week.

Bei unserer Ankunft war das Haus in einwandfreiem Zustand. Alles sehr sauber, modern, geschmackvoll und gepflegt. Küche, bis auf Kleinigkeiten, komplett einge -richtet. Die Schlafzimmer sind geräumig, die Betten sind wirklich prima.Ebenso Bad und WC, alles modern und ansprechend. Das Haus verfügt über einen kleinen Garten nach Westen, einen schönen Balkon in der 1.Etage (schöner Frühstücksplatz),ebenfalls nach Westen. Von dort aus führt eine Treppe zur schönen, großen Dachterasse mit Grill und Liegen.
Alle Angaben/Beschreibungen/Fotos sind völlig korrekt, ebenso die Vorbereitung und Betreuung am Ort.

Das Haus befindet sich auf dem höchsten Punkt und in bester Lage der Urbanisation "Fuentes de Almunecar".
Der 2-seitige Meerblick von der Dachterasse ist wirklich einmalig: Nach Westen über die Bucht von Almunecar, nach Osten in Richtung Salobrena.
Die Urbanisation liegt etwas außerhalb/oberhalb von Almunecar, ist modern aber sehr ansprechend und gepflegt gestaltet. Am Abend ist es angenehm ruhig.
Es gibt zwei Poolbereiche (der Infinity- Pool ist besonders schön) die beide ab 12 Uhr Mittags öffnen.
Die Lage macht ein Auto sicher notwendig.
Insgesamt ist das Haus absolut empfehlenswert, ein Kompliment an die Vermieter !
