Situated on the north coast of County Wexford, Courtown has been a popular holiday destination for many years, due to the combination of excellent quality beaches, proximity to Dublin (one hour by car or train) and the superior weather enjoyed in the 'sunny south-east' of Ireland. The nearest town is Gorey, a bustling market town with enough shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants to keep the whole family amused! For those interested in day trips, the beauty of the Wicklow Mountains are one hour away, ideal for a day's walking, sight seeing, or a picnic. In particular we would recommend Glendalough, a breath-taking location with fascinating historical importance. There is a visitor centre and woodland trails which circle the stunning lake. Links to other recommended day trips (and the local Pirates Cove children's attraction), can be found in the 'Further Details' section. Gorey Tourist Information Office Gorey: Telephone: 053/9421248
