One of 2 stunning gites in an old mas on the Chateau Esparrou wine domain, this 2 bedroom self-catering accommodation offers rural tranquility whilst only being a stone's throw from the bars, restaurants and beautiful sandy beach of Canet. Situated at the end of a private road through the vines, the historic mas has played a key role in the history of well known Chateau Esparrou. Inside the picturesque gites the spacious rooms all have high ceilings which keep them cool in summer, whilst the peaceful south facing terrace means you are never short of sun! As well as having your own large terrace which is kept private by the natural vegetation, you have full-time access to a sunny sheltered swimming pool and over an acre of garden from which you can walk out into the vineyards and nature reserve and then onto Canet and its stunning sandy beach. Guests at the mas can enjoy a free tour of the Chateau Esparrou wine domain, whose highly rated cave is a brief walk up through the domain.

The bustling resort of Canet is renowned throughout France for having some of the most beautiful sandy beaches on the French Mediterranean. Stretching from vibrant Place Mediterranean, with its plethora of bars and restaurants, to the harbour one way and the peaceful nature reserve the other, the beach is alive from dusk till dawn with watersports and music. The Mas is nestled between Canet's beautiful nature reserve, famous for its flamingos & Chateau Esparrou, just one of the region's many historic buildings. Vibrant Catalan culture is visible everywhere from the colourful markets to the many festivals which take place throughout the long summer. No-one fails to be taken in by the charms of Perpignan with its lively historic centre. If it's peace and tranquility you're after you could head up into the nearby mountains, topped off by the sacred Canigou; if it's art you prefer then visit Matisse's favourite Collioure, Picasso's Ceret or why not head over the border into Dali country.

Notes: Inside the gite has just been totally refurbished with all mod-cons whilst retaining its Catalan style. Outside, as well as a swimming pool the large car free garden has plenty of toys to keep big and little kids amused! There is a climbing frame, swings, table tennis, boule pitch, trampoline, basketball ring, football goal and a large shaded sandy area where little ones can dig and build. Having relocated from London, we are delighted to be able to share our corner of paradise with other francophiles.
