A beautiful villa, hidden amongst the olive groves with stunning views across Lake Trasimeno. This luxurious farmhouse is a 10 min walk outside the village of Tuoro sul Trasimeno, 30 min drive from medieval city of Perugia. It is situated off the 'Hannibal Trail' on the small road which runs up to the hamlet of Sanguinetto (the site of Hannibal's last battle). Nestled amongst the olive groves the farmhouse has a large garden and is not overlooked by any properties. The house has a large, private swimming pool & tennis court. The house sleeps 10 comfortably (5 bedrooms: 4 doubles, 1 single. 3 of the rooms have ensuite bathrooms). It is beautifully decorated with three sitting rooms, dining room and large kitchen (with farmhouse table). There's a large dining table out on the vine covered terrace, with views over the swimming pool. In the main sitting room is a fireplace (wood provided in winter). Table tennis table in gardens. 5 minute drive to lakeside beach and Trasimeno island ferry

Location: Tuoro sul Trasimeno in Italy

The farmhouse is a short walk, through olive groves to the village of Tuoro sul Trasimeno with its small shops for local produce and basic supplies - fish monger, butcher, chemist, pizzeria, trattoria. Weekly food market. There's a cafe in the village square for coffees and aperitifs. 20 minute drive round the lake will take you to the Tuscan hilltop town of Cortona or to the medieval city of Perugia. Below the village of Tuoro sul Trasimeno is the lakeside beach and pier for the Trasimeno island ferry. Fantastic fish restaurant on the isola. Windsurfs, pedalos and sail boats can be hired from the Tuoro beach. The house is in an ideal location for exploring Umbria and Tuscany. Small railway station in Tuoro takes you to Perugia, or the station of Terontola (20 min drive from house) has direct fast trains to Florence and Rome. The house is on the marked 'Hannibal' walk which takes you from Tuoro up to the hamlet of Sanguinetto and down into the green valley, leading to Lake Trasimeno.
