Photos and Description of this San Giuliano Terme holiday house A Tuscan pilgrim's retreat, now a friendly family house with garden and pool.

The holiday rental house forms part of this former pilgrim's retreat in the Pisan Hills. The accommodation comprises, on the ground floor, a living room with fireplace, a separate kitchen/dining area and one twin bedded bedroom. Upstairs is the bathroom with large shower, marble washbasin, WC and bidet and a magnificent bedroom with a large double bed, and with traditional furnishings, beams and terracotta ceiling. Outside the guests have a reserved shaded area with marble table and bench seating and with an incomparable view, through the jasmine, over the plain of Pisa to the city itself and the sea beyond. Adjacent is a lawned area for relaxed sunbathing. On the terrace below is situated the swimming pool. From the terrace on which the house is situated paths lead up the hills through steep olive groves, for stimulating walks. We welcome families with children but regret we cannot accommodate pets.

The location of the house, Il Romitorio, is deep among olive groves, high above the bustling plain, where the loudest sound is often that of the birds. Tuscany is an area famous for the beauty of its countryside as well as for the richness and diversity of its artistic creativity to be seen in every city of the region. It is also noted for its gastronomic delights, with a wide variety of restaurants. It has some of the best Mediterranean beaches in northern Italy, as well as numerous summer festivities and cultural events. The leaning Tower of Pisa is but a part of the wonders of the World Heritage site of the Campo Santo. Close by is the Regional National Park of the Pisan Coast. Lucca, with its restrained beauty, is a noted centre for shopping for products of high quality Tuscan crafts. There are plenty of activities both on the coast (swimming, water skiing, sailboarding, surfing, beach paragliding) and inland (cycling, mountain paragliding, walking, riding).

A warm and friendly atmosphere

The Owners were very friendly people and made us feel very welcome. The property was beautiful and well-maintained. The pool was nice and the view breathtaking. The accommodation was everything that the website promised and more. This is a perfect place to visit Pisa and Lucca, which are both just a stone's throw away. There are great beaches just half an hour away by car. I would definetely recommend this house to everyone.

First visit to Italy and I have to say we had a wonderful time. Our house was sweet, the views awe-inspiring, the pool a hit with the kids and the gardens pretty and tranquil.
The first time up the hill was a journey taken with trepidation - but that was our fault for hiring a tiny car - once you've got the hang of it, it's a breeze! Good location for sight-seeing and beaches - we did have a lovely holiday!

It was a really perfect place to have rest and to admire the Tuscan nature. Very friendly family. Bautiful and romantic place. Perfect for children. Very easy to make excursions: Florence, Siena, San Giminiano, Lucca, Livorno. Nice beach in a natural park. Incredible view from the garden (you can even see the leaning tower in Pisa and the Cathedral)

100% Toscana ...

Wir waren zum allerersten Mal in der Toscana und sind hin und weg von der traumhaften Umgebung.
Die Ruhe, die die Menschen ausstrahlen wirkt Wunder und trägt in vollem Umfang zur Erholung bei.
Die Beschreibungen des Ferienhauses treffen zu 100% zu. Das Haus hat eine phantastische und vor allem ruhige Lage und es ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Es ist umgeben von ca. 3000 Olivenbäumen auf dem Berg über Pisa. Mit dem Auto ist man bis zu Pisa, Lucca und zum nächsten Strand ca. 15 Min. unterwegs durch eine traumhafte Landschaft. Die Familie selbst ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Uns ist sehr schnell aufgefallen, dass die Familie dieToscana liebt und auch lebt. Dies haben wir sehr zu schätzen gelernt. Auch der Haushund Filu wird uns immer in guter Erinnerung bleiben.
In diesem Zusammenhang möchten wir uns nochmals ganz herzlich bei der Familie für die erholsamen Urlaubstage bedanken und wünschen Ihnen für Ihre weitere Zukunft viel Erfolg und Gesundheit.

Fazit: Wir werden auf jeden Fall nochmals in das Haus zurückkehren...
