Traditional Algarve Farm House in Nature Reserve

Casa Flor de Sal lies in the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve and enjoys sea views and a seclusion rarely found these days along the Algarvian coast. The 250 year old house has been renovated to offer tourist accommodation with true regional and historic features and atmosphere. You may be content just to enjoy the sun, pool, and peace. Otherwise, the wonderful, long, sandy beaches and the bird life of the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve are close at hand. You can also swim in the Lagoon or cross to the sandy islands. The nature reserve is very rich in bird life and other wildlife, being the crossing point for migratory birds traveling between Africa and Europe. Children can play in the outdoor playground and it is possible to rent bikes at Casa Flor de Sal to go for a ride.

Stork House is the western end of Casa Flor de Sal. It has four bedrooms, living room, dining room, 2 indoors bathrooms, outdoors shower and WC, kitchen and a traditional Algarvian terrace on the roof. In addition, there is a patio on the South side of the house and a private BBQ area. Garden, pool, parking and children's play area is shared between Stork House and Hoopoe House (the Western end).

Casa Flor de Sal lies in the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve and enjoys sea views and a seclusion rarely found these days along the Algarvian coast. The wonderful, long, sandy beaches and the rich bird- and wildlife of the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve are close at hand. You can also swim in the Lagoon or cross to the sandy islands. Casa Flor de Sal is about 40 minutes by road from the Spanish border. The city of Seville is less than 2 hours away and the whole of Andalusia is within easy reach. Lisbon can be reached in two and a half hours by road.

  • Heating in winter is extra.

Casa Flor de Sal has its own pool, which means it is shared between residents of Hoopoe House and Stork House. Stork House has a few steps (1-2 at a time) some rooms, in additions there is one upstairs bedroom. It is perfecly feasibel to place find beds for 4 people in a way that they are not too bothered by stairs. Bicycles can be rented for €20/wk. Beach towels are not included.
