The Property is a single story villa in a village close to the lovely walled town of Obidos with festivals including one in July and an opera festival in September. It is within easy reach of the coast and many interesting places as detailed below.The heated pool is 4m x 8m [with safety gate] in a secluded courtyard with areas of sun and shade. The property can comfortably sleep 8 but can accommodate two semi independent groups of up to 4 because is has two kitchens, one with a table that seats 8 and the other with a table that seats 4. Both kitchens open onto the courtyard. It has a shower room and a bathroom so, for example, 2 families can have their own part of the house with bedrooms sitting area, kitchen and bathroom, but can socalise around the pool or in the large kitchen. The courtyard has seating dining and lounging for 8! It has off street parking for 2 to 3 cars. There is an English speaking lady who lives locally and looks after it.

Silver Coast between Obidos town and Obidos lagoon and the beach. To the West is Obidos lagoon and to the North West lie miles of beautiful unspoilt Atlantic coast line. Also close by are the resorts of; Foz do Arelho with its water sports, S. Martinho de Porto with its calm protected inland horseshoe bay and Nazare. To the South West lies the beaches of Playa del Rey with its golf course beyond which lies the historic town of Peniche, which is also a surfing resort. Obidos, a World Herritage medieval town, is 4km (2km for a bird). Caldas da Rainha the local large town for provisions is about 6km. The coast / beaches vary between 15 and 25 minutes drive. Lisbon is 80km South. Within a comfortable day’s driving inland lies the 12th century Cistercian monastery of Santa Maria de Alcobaca and many other magnificent old cities including; Batalha, Leiria, Fatima and Coimbra, the “Oxford” of Portugal.

My friends and I rented this villa for a week in July and had a truly wonderful time. The Villa was beautiful with everything you could possibly want for a relaxing week away from it all. Tasteful and comfortable furnishings and décor made this really feel like a home away from home. The Pool was warm and the general layout and spaciousness meant that even with eight of us there we were never under each others feet and there was always a quiet corner somewhere to sit down with a good book.



The villa is Just a short drive from the very picturesque Obidos, numerous beaches (the info pack in the villa was very useful here), and supermarkets and other local conveniences.



Overall I can’t recommend this villa highly enough and can’t wait to go back there and I’m sure my friends would agree.

An excellent holiday!!

This was our second holiday at the villa. The villa is set in a quiet, unspoilt location close to the beautiful Obidos & the beach & has beautiful views. it has everything you could possible need & our stay was again perfect. The property was clean, tidy & the pool was lovely and warm. we basically just stayed at the villa, going to the 3 very close supermarkets for food & cooking BBQ's every night. We even used the bread oven!!! I would recommend this property to everyone (we went with a 2yr old & 6 month old baby) I also thought the gate across the pool was an excellent idea! There are lots of nice restaurants in Obidos & you can spend a good afternoon walking around & taking in the beautiful views! Foz is also close & worth visiting for the beach. We are going to book 2 weeks next year & cannot wait to go back! An A+++ Holiday! Thank you!!!!!

We had a very relaxing holidays there...

Easy to find the house driving from Lisbon:

The house both inside and outside is very well and fully equiped and clean, the pool is 29-31 degrees, the area is quiet. Lot of facilities few kms around to buy food (big and small supermarkets and little grocery shops as well).

Every evening around 6pm the bread is brought to the door !

Obidos is a very charming small medieval city. Ocean is not so far (but anyway too icy to swim).

Only negative comment is that there are far too many flies in the house's area, this was a bit of a burden, but the teens enjoy spending some time fighting them.

Thanks also to the warm welcoming form the English lady house keeper.

We would definitely rent it again if going back to Portugal (so nice country and friendly people).
