Wonderfully situated 50 metres from one of the most stunningly attractive beaches in Europe at Les Sables d'Olonne. Both properties are part of a semi-detached house which has recently been completely renovated with brand new fully-equipped kitchens and bathrooms. Ideal family holiday property or for those who want to take advantage of the delights of the Vendée not least the 3 kilometres-long sandy beach of Les Sables with its majestic promenade (' Le Remblai ') and excellent shops and restaurants. Enjoy swimming, surfing, sail-boarding, cycling, exploring the rock-pools or simply lie back in the sunshine and enjoy a climate second only to the Cote d'Azur. It has its own local shopping centre with covered and outdoor markets, bank and small super-market. Locally produced wine ( 'Fief Vendeens') is of sufficient quality to be marketed under the umbrella of the Loire Valley alongside Sancerre, Muscadet, and Samur. Visit the winery at Mareuil ( 20 mins) and put it to the test!

This property has been completely renovated and was available for the first time in 2007. It consists of two floors of a delightful semi-detached seaside property with charming external and internal architectural features including the original exquisitely tiled floors. It boasts the latest in modern ventilation systems. It has a new fully-fitted kitchen with integrated washing-machine and dishwasher, and a fridge-freezer and a spacious traditional dining area. The newly furnished sitting room has French windows leading onto a small balcony. On the first floor is a new bathroom, shower-room and newly furnished and decorated bedrooms. Both double-bedrooms enjoy views of the sea and the main bed-room also has French windows and its own balcony. The bedrooms, hall, stairs, landing and sitting-room have all been newly carpeted and throughout the day the house has the benefit of a sunny south-eastern aspect.

A quite outstanding area of natural beauty on the French Atlantic coast. Add to the traditional seaside activities, over 100 kilometres of designated cycling and walking routes tracking a coast-line bordered by dunes and pine. Golfers are catered for at Port Bourgenay and Olonne-sur-Mer. For a complete change try Les Sables' very own Zoo or 'Go to the Races' (Trotting) at Hippodrome de La Malbrande (15 mins). La Musée de l'Abbaye Saint-Croix is a former Benedictine Abbey now devoted to contemporary art. Further afield is France's leading 'son et lumière'- la Cinéscenie ( 'not just a show, a legend') at Le Puy de Fou ( near Les Epesses) which is enjoyed by huge audiences. The Marais Poitevin ( 'the Green Venice') is a diverse natural environment with its large network of canals; and beyond is La Rochelle a gorgeous and historically important fortified town which is connected by a spectacular bridge to the Ile de Ré currently favoured holiday destination of many French celebrities.

Lovely Renovated House beside the beach

We really enjoyed our stay this summer, the house is well furnished, comfortable and equipped with everything you could need for your stay.

It is very handy for the beach, restaurants and shopping but is on a quiet side-street so you don't get any outside noise.

We can definitely recommend this property.

It's not normally something that we would do, but this is such a lovely property, that we felt that it deserves to be reviewed. The main property is fantastic! It's equipped with everything you need, from the cooker/dishwasher/microwave to having a couple of bikes that guests can use. The location is fantastic, situated on a quiet (except for the noisy seagulls!) street which leads to the main promenade. The beach is a minutes walk away and the shops in town are no more than a 10 minute lovely walk away. We had a bit of a problem when the boiler packed in, but the caretaker arrived to sort it out within the hour!!! Parking in Les Sables D'Olonne is a bit of a lottery in high season, however we managed to find free parking every day, within a 10 minute walk of the property. Les Sables itself is a delight and although it is a resort that you can cover easily without a car, it's nice to have one to enable you so visit nearby attractions. We would highly recommend this property and look forward to returning. Thanks to the owners for excellent communication and for letting us stay in a wonderful property.

Please please please don't go to this property because we might be wanting it when you do! We had so much fun in Les Sables d'Olonne and we loved the house. I was thinking of slamming the door once my family were loaded into the car to go home and refusing to leave. The house is so lovely and so much thought has gone into furnishing and equiping it. It's elegant, but homely and comfortable. It's heaven! What really impressed me was the artwork on the walls - so often there are fairly uninspiring anonymous prints with the real stuff in the owners permanent home. But here we had such fab pieces - I know that's not the first consideration when you're chosing a holiday home, but to me it indicates how loved the property is. Anyway, don't go here - you'll hate it. Yes! Now it'll always be free for us to use!!! My cunning plan is sure to have worked...

A good choice for the Vendee

We really enjoyed our stay in this property. It made a nice change to the rural/out-of-town camping and mobile home sites we have used as a family for many years. It was great to be just 50 metres from the beach without having to load up and venture out in a car every time. It was also great to be just able to wander along the Les Sables promenade in the evenings - lots of restaurants immediately at hand.

The accommodation is very spacious. light and airy, clean and very well equiped. Parking was not a problem and we managed to find a space within a few hundred yards on the few occasions we did go out in the car,

A lovely house in a lovely location.

My friends and I were really pleasantly surprised upon our arrival at the house in Les Sables. Walking from room to room we were increasingly impressed with the attention to detail, cleanliness and comfort of space that simply cannot be communicated through photographs. Upon settling in we came to notice how much thought had been put into provisions - everything from napkins to handsoap.
The location was perfect for what we wanted from our holiday - right next to the beach and loads of restaurants, only a short walk from the shops, the art museum and the train station.
We really enjoyed our stay, communication with the owners made it really easy and the care they put into creating a lovely holiday environment left us not wanting to leave!
