A superbly converted hamlet set amidst olive groves, vineyards on the Pisa wine route, in the heart of the prestigious white truffles territory. Once a castle, then a working farm that won many acolades for its olive oil. Today is a listed building and thanks to the meticulous renovation that the hamlet has received the farm buildings are now luxury self catering apartments in this time lost idyllic setting. There are various types of apartments from 1, 2 bedrooms and studio apartments, with sofa beds to accommodate additional guests. The perfect solution for any size of group. Inside the hamlet there is a high quality restaurant with great alla carte menu and selection of wines. For the more casual eating the once wine cellar is a tastefully converted Enoteca. Enjoying an apertif, wine tasting or try out the traditional Tuscan cuisine and take in the ambiance of th courtyard and grounds. A perfect location for exploring Tuscany, close to Pisa, Florence, Siena, Volterra, San Miniato.

The barns, stable block and granaries of this listed building today have all been converted into unique studio, 1 and 2 bedroom apartments. Some of which have small private gardens and some are attic style studio apartments. The original Tuscan style and features of the building have been maintained, such as, the exposed wooden beams and terracotta floors. All the apartments are finished with similar high quality standard classic Tuscan fixtures and furnishings, top quality bathrooms areas and modern facilities. They all have air conditioning, satellite TV (CNN, BBC, Sky News) & DVD player. Each apartment has a modern kitchenette fully equipped with microwave oven, fridge, freezer, electric cooking hobs and kettle, in order to giving the added flexibility of a self-catering. For those who do not wish to self cater there are trattoria's and restaurants immediately outside the hamlet grounds or alternatively in the nearby villages which are only a couple of kms in distance.

The Borgo can be reached from several airports, including Pisa, Florence, Bologna and Genoa, although the most convenient is definitely Pisa. Airlines flying to Pisa from the UK include: ryanair- from Stansted, Liverpool, Glasgow and Dublin; easyjet- from Bristol; thomsonfly- from Bournemouth, Coventry and Doncaster; ba - from Gatwick and Birmingham; jet2, from Manchester and Edinburgh Ryanair have a deal with Hertz and car hire can be obtained from as little as 15 Euros per day. The drive from Pisa airport to the Borgo is extremely straightforward and detailed directions can be supplied at the time of booking. Driving from the UK is very straightforward and takes approx 13 hours actual driving time. At a push it can be done in one day.

Skiing: Set in a perfect location, half an hour from Pisa airport, the hamlet is set on a hilltop in the Valdera region of Tuscany, in the heart of the Pisa wine route and close to the classic Chianti wine area. Steeped in history, art & culture, within easy reach of the many renaissance treasures, caffé's and chic boutiques of Florence and Siena. Near to Puccini's home land Lucca and Lake Massaciccuoli where the summer open air operas are performed to the delight of opera lovers just 40/50 minutes away by car. The Roman ruins of Volterra are 35 min. away and the famous towers of San Gimigniano. To the south west you can reach the coast of Livorno and take the ferry to the island of Elba and travelling north you can reach the beaches of Versilia, such as Forte Dei Marmi or Viareggio. Alternatively you can go walking, trekking or hiking in the Apuan Alps in the summer and skiing in the winter months. For total relaxation you may just wish just to enjoy the ambiance and facilities of the hamlet.

Horse riding: Horse riding is available 100m from the Borgo.

What a gem to find!!!

Our stay at the Borgo di Colleoli was wonderful, the photos on the web site do not do it justice. We had our 6 year old daughter and 2 year old son with us who had a great time in both of the swimming pools, also at night for dinner there is a pizzeria just approx 2mins walk from the apartment where there is outdoor swings for the children to play on though i would book for an outdoor seat because it does get very busy!! The apartment is lovely very clean and very spacious also because its very quiet outside and the apartment has shutters the kids were sleeping into 10am great!! The customer service was really good as soon as you asked for something they were on the ball when we arrived our television wasn't working the next again day there was a replacement. I have and will be recommended this gorgeous, beautiful place to friends and family the most relaxing holiday ever!!!

Beautiful Tuscan Appartment in spendid surrounding

We recently stayed in this lovely appartment situated on a hillside surrounded by the Tuscan beauty that you see in the movies. This is very much an 'adult' get away. Situated perfectly for day trips to Pisa, Lucca, Sienna, Florence and many many more beautiful towns and cities. You will need to hire a car though. The appartment is 2nd floor, without outdoor seating which was the only minus point for us. The grounds and pool areas are immaculate and the appartment was beautifully clean and well kept. Great furnishings and equipment made for a very comfotable stay. We didn't sample the on-site resturant (though it looked good)! but did walk the 500m up the tree lined driveway to the local pizzeria which was fantastic and really really good value, (the local Rose really recommended)!!! The appartment is situated along side a riding stables which allows you to take a slow stroll on horseback with a hunky Italian guide and a one hour stroll through the hills will only set you back 20 euros! A real must do even if you are not horse mad, one of the best things we ever did!! We loved this place and the owners were very helpful and communication was great.
