What a wonderful place to spend a holiday! The name of the house is derived from the Walt Disney film, the Lion King and means - No Worries. This is exactly why you should spend your time here. Hakuna Matata is a substantial farmhouse which has recently been modernised so that families can enjoy all the modern comforts together with the charm of this traditional old farmhouse. The living area faces east ensuring that it keeps cool during the hot summer months while the central heating ensures that you will feel warm and comfortable during the mild winter months. Therefore you are welcome here all the year round. It is situated in a tranquil rural setting with views across the country which leads down to the sea. Nearest Airport: Malta - Luqa Airport at 40 Kilometres
Nearest Beach: beach at 3000.0 Metres

Within 1 km from the house there is the village centre which is beautifully decorated during the festive season. There is also the resort of Marsalforn around 2 kms away. There is the beach, many dining places and great walks in this area. On the other side there is Ramla l-Hamra, the largest sandy beach in Gozo, famous for the colour of the sand. In Victoria there is the Citadel, or fortified city, the cathedral, the open market and many other attractions such as churches, the theatre, the museums and other similar attractions. There are the prehistoric temples close by that are worth a visit. You cannot miss a visit to Ta' Pinu either. Here you will see the great architecture and the beautiful stone work in this holy shrine. The inland sea at Dwejra and the cliffs nearby that drop right into the sea are a spectacle too!

Notes: There is ample parking facilities on the road or square next to the property. Within walking distance there is the fishing village of Marsalforn and beach of Ramla il-Hamra. Minimarket for groceries in main village square next to church together with lots of small dining places that include typically Mediterranean cuisine, Italian food such as pizzas and pasta places and Chinese restaurants. Car recommended but the bus can be taken from the main village square - around 10 minutes away on foot. Self catering but Delina, our housekeeper can cook, shop and clean. She can also take care of young children - very reliable, loyal, honest and quiet lady who speaks English. Area is ideal for quite holiday - perfect for quiet country walks. Take your children for a very good ice cream in the village, kite flying, great fun in the water. You must visit the 5000 year old temples within walking distance. Great architecture and culture - toy museum, Ulysses lodge, Ninu's cave metres away.

Our first but not last visit to Gozo.

The villa is lovely and full of character, looks just as it is on the photos. Lots of space, and very traditional. It is over three floors,so not good for elderly/disabled.Furnishings and kitchen equipment etc. adequate. The location is good, but a car is definitely needed. Parking is not a problem. Directions for finding the property once in the locality were not great,and arrangements for collecting the key did not work out, we ended up hanging around and having to ring the housekeeper, would have been difficult if we had had no phone!! A nice welcome pack of basics was provided.The negative side was the overall cleanliness ( not thorough, kitchen particularly) and poor quality bed sheets and towels. There was a problem with hot water, which was fairly promptly sorted.A few lights did not work and the bathroom on the lower floor was out of order, which was a disappointment and inconvenient for the people sleeping down there. The pool is small but very pretty. Local attractions are interesting,people very friendly and mostly english speaking . Some good resteraunts nearby.There is loads to see on the island, none of it very far away. Ferry to malta convenient and easy. would definitely go back, but possibly not to that villa.

The place to relax

We have stayed at this house two times and we must say that the house brings a relaxing and comfortable feeling. The first time we was there, we almost felt like we had been taken into a movie with all those big rooms with so much hight to the roofs and the mixture with the old a new influences that the house contains.
We highly recommend this house and the landlords as well as the housekeeper are really nice people who helps you with anything you might need or miss.
We also reccomend to have a car so you can travel around the beatiful island of Gozo.

THE place to relax

I've stayed at this house every year at least twice since 2005 and look forward to going there every single time. The property is kept clean and welcoming and is my number one spot to relax and recharge my batteries. Over the years the owners have updated and exchanged the furniture etc. which has improved the value for money greatly. The owners always contact me after my stay and ask for feedback and I have seen many of my suggestions become reality.



The friendly housekeeper lives 3 doors down and has so far solved all problems (e. g. missing glasses or towels) within less than 24 hours.



The house is situated in a quiet street with ample parking for those who rent a car. The beautiful Ramla Bay is a 20 minute walk away if you don’t mind the steep hill. Otherwise you can reach it by car within 5 minutes. The capital Victoria can be reached within 10 minutes by car and offers great shopping possibilities and sightseeing opportunities that should not be missed especially the view from the Citadela.

Lovely house and surroundings

This is a lovely converted farmhouse that is spacious and has a decent sized pool. The accomodation is listed as having 3 bathrooms and this is what we expected, however, on arrival we discovered one of the bathrooms was completely out of use and obviously had been for some time.The kitchen had plenty of crockery, utensils etc but it was not especially clean when compared with other holiday accomodation we have stayed in and we needed to wash everything before using it.
All in all we had a lovely week and would definitely return to Gozo but would probably not go back to this accomodation as although the house was lovely, we were disappointed with the kitchen.
I would recommend you hire a car if staying here, especially in the summer, as the heat made the walk to the beach unbearable.
Owner's Response: I am happy that these guests found the property spacious and the pool great. We do make a great effort to keep the gardens in good shape. This is a truly old property expertly converted. The comments about the kitchen came as a surprise and the guests should have brought this to the attention of the housekeeper immediately. We have also taken action from our end.
Our certificate of customer care are the number of families that keep coming back year after year.
