Le Bourg is set on the edge of a tiny hamlet, just 3km. from the historic town of Domfront (11C, fortified with narrow streets, timbered houses, and many small shops and a range of restaurants). The spa town of Bagnoles, set in a large forest (with many walking trails) is 20 minutes away. The surrounding countryside is quiet, bucolic with small hedged pastures, grazed by cattle and dotted with traditional Norman farmsteads and cottages. Only an hour away are 3 major historical and tourist destinations- West lies the medieval and mystical Mont St. Michel; North lie the Normandy beaches and in the town of Bayeux, the Tapestry of that name, depicting the Norman invasion of William the Conquerer. Normandy is famous for its restaurants and creperies, cuisine, cheeses(Camambert, Pont Leveque) and Calvados (apple brandy).
