Photos and Description of this Playa de las Americas holiday apartment A self-catering rental on quiet complex with heated pool & pool bar.

This self-catering studio is part of the resort 'Paraiso Royale', located in Las Americas, just 2nd line from the beach. Although it is very central, it is an extremely tranquil and secure complex, as testified by the high number of permanent residents and families who live there. Just a 2 minute walk from the beach, upon entering the exterior locked gates, there is an immediate sense of calm amid the quiet walkways lined with the mature lush gardens of the complex. The community pool is heated and includes vast sunning areas and a pool bar. There are just 3 levels on the complex, with this corner studio apartment located on the 1st floor, although there is only a terrace above it, which adds to the tranquility. The sleeping/living area consists of 2 twin beds and a double sofa bed and air con/heater. The open concept kitchen has just been renovated. The bathroom has also just been renovated with all new tiles and fixtures. The covered balcony has a table & chairs and overlooks garden.

With a central location, very close to the beach, this apartment is perfectly situated for those who want the option to lounge around the pool all day, hit the beach, go shopping, or enjoy some nightlife. Everything is within walking distance, with the beach only a 2 minute walk across the street. There are endless restaurants, bars & shops directly outside the complex, and yet within it is surprisingly quiet. All the walking is on the flat, no hills. This complex 'Paraiso Royale' is located directly behind Sol Tenerife Hotel, and just down the street from the Las Palmeras Hotel and the Parque Santiago chain of hotels. Within walking distance is the popular nightclub zone of Veronica's, but on the way are many more upscale bars and restaurants, including Jazzissimo, a popular jazz/motown club. There are several supermarkets and pharmacies also within walking distance. The new Siam Park is 2.3 km away. The free tourist train passes in front of Paraiso Royal.

Notes: AIR: There is a strong ceiling fan and with the balcony doors and side window open, you can enjoy a refreshing cross-breeze. A new air conditioner was installed 2007. SUNBEDS: Sunbeds are available around the community pool, with lots of space for sunning. They are free of charge, but a cushy mat costs 1.50€ to rent. Towels for around the pool are provided in the apartment. PHONES/INTERNET: There are several payphones located throughout the complex, and several Internet cafes within walking distance. VIEWS: The balcony is 10m2, partially covered, with 4 chairs and a table. It overlooks the quiet pedestrian treed walk beside the complex. The sun hits the balcony at about noon. If you want to lay in the sun all day, you have the option of the pool, the beach, or the tranquil community garden plaza just steps from the apartment. SECURITY: Complex gates are locked from 8pm to 8am and it is surrounded by high fences. The apartment has a safe for your use. All windows lock securely.

Good place to stay!

This apartment is positioned excellently for good bars, shops and restaurants yet quiet and secluded in it's own little 'village'. Clean and well maintained with 2 bottles of wine plus tea/coffee making provisions waiting as you arrive. A lovely touch! Easy to organise with owner to pick keys up with good directions to give to the taxi driver. The only two downsides is that water is supplied by an electric boiler and therefore limited on shower time plus the television. Ample DVD's provided by owner and good quality TV but... 500 channels but not good for Brits abroad!! In our 9 days the world unfortunately appeared to be doom and gloom and all we watched was Sky News. Anyone suffering from depression, it would be enough to drive you over the edge! It's such a shame because it's really lovely place, but for that reason, I would be reluctant to go back! We used a bar called 'Carriages' which is in front of the complex. An excellent place for breakfast and well recommended for good, homely hospitality from Ian and Claire.
Owner's Response: UPDATE: Future guests will be happy to know that as of March 2009 our apartment has a new digital tv provider, which includes BBC1 & 2, ITV, Channel 4 & 5 and a film channel.

a home away from home

My husband and I (60+) stayed here in March for a fortnight. Based on what we could afford, we did not expect much. I think we paid about 240 pounds per week. For that we got a lovely, fresh, very clean apartment. It was well stocked when we arrived, with everything to make coffee or tea, juice and water. I had forgot to bring an adaptor for our mobile phones, and was pleased to see 2 waiting for us on the table. There is an iron, hair dryer, safe, large refrigerator, full oven, and even a washing machine! We had booked directly with the owner, Sarah, who was very helpful and pleasant, answering all my niggling questions, and sent us a card to print out to give the taxi driver directions just in case. We would definitely come back, and know that we can pack even less this time, as it really is a home away from home.

Very clean and comfortable. Fully equipped kitchen and laundry. Close to the beach and still convenient to do other sight-seeing. Will definitely use again.

Loved the place, much prettier than the place I rented last year. Was so happy to find tea and milk on arrival. Convenient to shopping and restos, good night-life close by. My girlfriends and I had a lovely getaway.

first time to island, fell in love

I’d never been to the island before, so didn’t really know what to expect, but I really loved it! The apartment was clean, very comfortable, and surprisingly attractive, for the price. It was only steps to shopping and restaurants, and yet very peaceful and quiet in the complex. I would definitely recommend it.
