A charming two bedroom log cabin, fully equipped, decking and garden area

Set in a beautiful, quiet valley and one of only five log cabins at the site, Toad Hall is beautifully presented and equipped. It sleeps 4 in a double and twin bedrooms, and has a shower room, kitchen area with oven and hob, washer/dryer, microwave and fridge/freezer, and a sitting/dining area with satellite TV/DVD, CD player and a selection of books, DVD's and games. There are electric wall-panel heaters in all rooms. Mobile phone signal is poor but there is a landlines installed for guests to use if necessary. Outside there is a small lawned and fenced area with a barbecue and picnic table, and a rotary clothes dryer. To the front of the cabin there is an enclosed decking area with table/chairs and parasol. The cabins share a communal grass area, bordered by a stream running along the bottom of the valley and Toad Hall has two allocated parking spaces.

Due to the sloping site and steps to the cabin it may not be suitable for the disabled. Dogs are allowed.

Bantham has a large, unspoilt sandy beach with views to Burgh Island and Bigbury on sea. It is perfect for families, surfers, body boarders, and walkers. The South West coast path is accessed from the beach with walks to secluded coves, pretty villages and the vibrant yachting town of Salcombe. Dogs are permitted on the beach year round, but in the summer season are restricted to the Ham and the western end of the beach (large area of sand at low tide). RNLI lifeguards patrol throughout the summer, and there is a surfing school based at the beach. The only other facilities are public toilets, but the village is a few minutes walk and has a shop, cafe and an excellent pub (The Sloop Inn). The cabin is within approximately half an hours drive of Dartmouth, Plymouth and the vast, rugged expanse of Dartmoor. The nearest town is Kingsbridge which has two supermarkets, Doctor's surgery/hospital, cinema and lots of excellent restaurants, cafes, pubs and takeaways.

Excellent getaway in fantastic surroundings

We stayed at Toad Hall in the last week of May and a really good experience there. Toad Hall itself is really well presented and we were impressed with how clean, comfortable and cozy it was from the moment we arrived. The kitchen is well equipped and the welcome pack of the essentials was very well received. The living room and bedrooms were as described and very homely and comfortable. For us, one of the things that really stood out for us is the outside space, there is a nice garden complete with BBQ as well as a lovely deck and terrace, ideal for catching the evening sun and eating al fresco.

The cabin is situated in a valley which is gives Toad Hall a real feel of isolation whilst actually being very close to the beach, Bantham, Kingsbridge and Salcombe. We were able to go on walks directly from the cabin which was a great bonus for us, the walking in the area is brilliant. Bantham beach is beautiful and has some really good surf. A short drive to Kingsbridge and Salcombe makes a great day out too and the food and drink is incredible, both from restaurants and local shops.

Overall Toad Hall provided us with a fantastic break and really allowed us to unwind. We were really impressed and will definitely recommend to friends and try to come back!
