Sea views, tucked away in an olive grove, overlooking Poros.
This quiet apartment for two/three people is tucked away in an olive grove on the outskirts of Galatas just minutes from the sea and the island of Poros. The studio is spacious for three and there is additional dinning and seating areas outside from where you have tantalising sea views and beautiful warm sunsets. Goat bells ripple in the surrounding hills and olive trees and citrus trees are scattered over the grounds in which you are free to wander. Turn left at the end of the olive grove and you will find the semi-private shared swimming pool. There are also tennis courts and a taverna tucked away by this pool. For more pampering the apartment also has an agreement with the luxury Spa in Galatas. With the studio being so close to the island of Poros (10 min) and the village of Galatas (5min) this location offers the perfect option of the tranquil countryside with quite solitude or busy village life, water sport centres and bustling nightlife.

Sunset Studio is found in an olive grove on the edge of the quiet village of Galatas. The island of Poros is separated from the Peloponnes village of Galatas by a narrow stretch of blue crystal water which gives this area it's breathtaking uniqueness. Water buses skip between the two giving you the best of their contrasting worlds. The quite atmosphere of Galatas offers excellent tavernas at reasonable prices overlooking this amazing view to Poros. Galatas also has its own sandy beach and pebbly coast lines to be explored. If you like wandering there are lanes and path ways to be discovered and the nearby 'Devils Gorge'. Opposite Poros has everything a lively holiday maker will need, beach bars, water sports, shops, tavernas, narrow passages to get lost in, rocking bars at night, discos. But hidden away are also sandy coves and old monasteries. All the choices are here depending on your mood.

| Notes: | POOL. The owner of the next door olive grove has built a small sports complex of a tennis court and an outdoor pool and a good quality taverna. They are so hidden away and blended into the trees that until you are there you wont see them. There is a minimal charge of 1 euro to use the pool and a seperate charge for the use of the tennis courts . The restaurant has internationally trained staff and boost a high standard. This complex (for want of a better word) has been built this year and Michalis, the owner, is very eager to make it pleasant for his 'guests'. To this aim he also has a small petting zoo with rabbits and peacocks etc in specially made enclosures around one edge of his garden. Being a bit of a fun loving guy himself he has also created amazing water 'sculptures' that move as the water pushes them. The whole place is friendly and fun for young and old alike. It will take about three minutes to stroll from sunset studio to the pool side. |
Added attraction of Sunset Studio
You will be welcomed Margaritte who owns the studio. She speaks fluent English and Greek and is very warm and welcoming and will help you with any local enquiries. If you need a holiday in which you would like to pamper yourself Sunset Studio has an agreement with the local new built spa (15 minutes walking). The Spa has recently been completed to a very high standard and includes an indoor pool, a jaccuzzi, sauna, steam room and gym all inclusive at the daily rate of 7 euros per person to people staying at the Sunset Studio. There is also a hairdressers and a beauty salon and a massage room. Outside is the Opera Cafe with chairs over looking Poros bay.
Galatas,
being on the mainland, gives you great accesibility to many of the Greek attractions. Epidavros, the best preserved ancient amphitheater anywhere is half an hours drive away. Mycene, with Agammemnon's 'beehive' tomb can be reach within the hour. The attractive old capital of Naflion, with it's island fort (which you can visit by boat for 4 euros a person) or gaze up at Palmidi castle 999 steps above the town, is also only an hour away. There is also great walking around Galatas, Devils Gorge, cool all the year round provides pleasant walking in the shade of trees one way and interesting 'scrambling' down to a cool bathing pool the other way. There is also an old 'lemon forest' on the outskirts of Galatas.
Poros
has a bit of everything, you can find idyllic sandy coves shaded with trees or you can go to full beaches and watch the people going by. There are water sports and shops and tarvernas. There's hotels will pools open to the public. There are resturants tucked away around corners. There are narrow white wash paths between old stone houses. There are corners that have been lost to the world. The far side of the island also has some more rural beaches with little or no facilities which you will have to drive to. You can take you car across from Galatas by the 'big boats' which cross every twenty minuets to half an hour. Or if you fancy a days excursion you can take the ferry or the 'flying dolphine' (hydrofoil) to the nearby islands of Hydra and Spetsus. Or to go a little further by boat you can take a one day cruise up to Tolo and attractive fishing village not far from Nafplion. Or maybe you will just sit and drink up the sunshine in the olive grove around Sunset Studio.
