Il Glicine is a beautifully, recently restored house in the center of Monteguidi, an ancient medieval city. The facade of Il Glicine is in beautiful Tuscan stone and you can see the beautiful terrace decorated with seasonal flowers as your approach Il Glicine. Il Glicine consists of two (2) apartments one in which the owner live, the second is a lovely 2 bedroom apartment. This apartment has a 1 bedroom with a queen size bed and a 2nd bedroom with 2 single beds. The apartment is also equipped with a nice size bathroom, a living room with a pull out couch that can sleep 2, kitchen, table and chairs and satellite TV. It's a lovely apartment which can sleep up to 6 people. Il Glicine house is an optimal base to explore the 'jewels' of Tuscany, in fact, with a short travel by car, you can visit the wonderful cities that surround us - San Gimignano, Siena, Volterra, Florence, the Mediterranean coast, etc. And in the evening, when you return from your excursion you can relax.

  • Monteguidi was an ancient castle of the Aldobrandeschi, that the mid-century. XIII was already subjected to Siena. it had an elongated in the north-south, with a maximum size of about 130 meters, while the transverse not more than 40 meters. Today they are still well preserved the two gates placed at the ends of the village. Along the main street, Via Cavour, are deployed some houses that retain obvious medieval structures and two stone towers. The Church of St. Andrea and S. Lorenzo, located at the north gate, it is Romanesque. Walking through Monteguidi you breathe the history and it is a eccellent basis to visit the wonderful city of Tuscany, in fact with just a few minutes by car you can reach Volterra-Siena, San Gimignano, Florence -

We very much enjoyed staying in the Il Glicine house in Tuscany. The hosts were charming and helpful. The location itself was a good base for exploring the region. We spent time in Volterra, San Gimignano, Siena and a couple of days on the beach. The accomodation was absolutely as advertised and a good value. The view from the terrace was a wonderful place to experience the sunsets, as it faces directly west.
