This is a quaint and homely little house, an annex to my own farmhouse. Set in a sheltered hollow it has 4 acres of land with gardens, ponds and olive trees It haspanoramic views of the Sibillini mountains. This is a virtually tourist free, agricultural area (mainly olives, sunflowers and maize). To shop in local villages and eat or drink in the bars and restaurants is like stepping back in time with traditional Marche dishes at old fashioned prices and helpful and friendly service. The little house is self contained with its own private outside cooking and eating space, although guests are welcome to use the whole garden and splash pool. It has a sitting room / kitchen downstairs and double bedroom with en suite shower room up. Extra bedrooms can be made available in the main house. Photographers, painters, readers, writers, walkers, historians, gardeners, gastronomes and dreamers will all be happy here. As will shoppers at the many designer outlets hidden in the Marche countryside.

The property is near to the medieval hill towns of Falerone and San Angelo. It is known for the Archaeological Park that protects the remains of Falerio Picenus. Several villas and baths remain as well as a restored amphitheatre. It lies between the Sibillini National Park and the sandy beaches of the Adriatic. The Sibillini mountains are snow capped for much of the year and are a stunning backdrop to the natural beauty of this area. Country lovers will be fascinated by the wildlife including porcupines, wild boars, marten, deer and many other animals and birds. Wild flowers abound. About 25km away is Fermo. Here, as well as many beautiful buildings, is a 1st century underground complex of cisterns, the Piscina Epuratoria Romana, akin to a flooded cathedral, which supplied the Roman Imperial fleet with fresh water.   • This is a lovely, new shower room with a large (1.2m) shower. beautifully tiled with polished wood floor. There is always hot water and plenty of soft towels.

  • Just one bedroom with en suite in this little house. It is bright and airy with windows in 3 sides, all with very pleasant views over the garden and landscape. It used to be the cantina / deposito to the farmhouse and although largely rebuilt it is restored just as it was with all the old windows replaced but not altered. It has a high double pitched beamed timber ceiling with roof light and timber floors. It has a big comfortable double bed and is quiet and simple. For larger parties there is an option to take one or two further bedrooms in the farmhouse.

Notes: The accommodation is simple but very comfortable and interesting. It is decorated with local curios and reminders of country life in past times. Books and other reading material, crosswords, jigsaw puzzles etc are all be provided and DVDs are available on loan. Washing can be done in the machine in the main house and access to the internet and telephone can also be arranged. There are seats and tables all about the garden and visitors are sure to find a comfy place in the sun or shade to suit their taste. An outside eating area is provided for the sole use of guests and they are also welcome to use the outside kitchen, barbeque and dining area. The garden is 4 years old, reclaimed from meadow and building site. It has olives, fruit trees, an old stone well and a growing collection of Mediterranean and other plants. There is also a goldfish natural pond with goldfish and carp pool. There is a small (4 meter diameter) swimming pool, for thkitchen ose who want a cool refreshing splash

Olive Picking: Olives are important to life here and the local variety is especially renowned. Almost everyone has a few trees to ensure supplies of good oil for the family. The olives are usually picked at the end of October. I have 25 trees and many neighbours who are grateful for help with the picking. Pruning takes place in Spring and is also interesting and diverting.

Speaking Italian: Of course everyone here speaks Italian, but all my neighbours as well as the shops and restaurants are endlessly patient and helpful with those who do not. Why not learn a little of the language while you have a chance to practice? Lessons can be arranged and are not expensive.

Crafts: A small workshop equipped with various craft materials and equipment, including a potery kiln, has been built this winter and is available for guest's use at extra cost

Ski: We are about 40 minutes from the Sibillini mountians with all the usual ski resort amenities at reasonable cost.

Other Activities: You are welcome to join in the gardening!. You can also learn how and help with the pruning and picking of olives and grapes in season
