'Trullo della Luna' is a farmhouse, its the typical building house you can find in Valle d'Itria: its a classic four-cones rural trullo. This type of building was once used only by the local peasants, now its shapes are appreciated by the entire world and are representative of this Italian region and its ancient culture. This area of Apulia is becoming a new Chianti, a place where the nature fuses its beauty into the controlled, quiet human environment. We recently bought this trullo when it was completely abandoned. As we are both architects, we saw it as if its dry-stone blocks were the ruins of a ancient temple, and we have restored it with a great enthusiasm. Trullo della Luna is located in the interlard of Ostuni, south east of the famous Valle d'Itria, the trulli-area (Alberobello, Cisternino, Locorotondo), not far from the Torre Guaceto National Marine Reserve, a park with seven kilometres of uncontaminated sea-coast with plenty of small crystal waters bays and white sand beaches. The environmental protection leaves new innovative ways of enjoying and being part of the nature: excursions, snorkeling, sailing, wind-surfing etc. Many daily trips are also possible: Alberobello, Fasano, Matera, Ostuni, Oria, Mesagne... all beautiful tourist goals. Our trullo is completely immersed in a beautiful olive grove. When we bought it, we though it is the best place to have relaxing moments. Additional information about rental rates

  • Prices are for two people. For a third or a fourth person you have to add approximately 12.5%, for a fifth or for a sixth person you have to add approximately 23%. Much better if you see the 'rates' page in our private web-site, linked in this page. Everything will be clear!
  • Important: we decided to offer the swimming pool as an optional feature, during the 'fresh season' normally we would not keep it operative or simply you would not require it and even in other seasons someone could not require it. So we decided to charge separately 170.00 Euro/week.
    Our credit card on-line payment is without any added fee. We charge +5% for payments via bank transfer or cheques.
  • Facilities always included: keys delivery by post, any type of assistance; hot water, electricity, heating, gas, stove; air conditioning, barbecue; safe; use of fully equipped kitchenette, refrigerator, mobile phone (charged by the guests), internet wifi connection; linen and towels changed once a week; initial and final cleaning's.

    If you want to use our car let us know it. The car is for free (just add the gasoline at the end of your stay!). We are sorry to give this opportunity only for parties up to three people: our Fiat Panda is a small car and there is room enough for three people only and some luggage to bring. We absolutely can't discount the rental price in the case you refuse the car.

  • Trullo della Luna is composed by a main dome-shaped room where there is a sofa bed (2) and three vaulted 'alcova', on one side, two of them form a small bedroom with another sofa-bed (2), from the other side there is the kitchenette. In the new amplification on the rear of the building there is a bedroom with a double bed and the bathroom with wash basin, WC, bidet, shower. Outside the building there is another important 'room', a sort of yard, once used for goats and sheep now a beautiful place with a table and a wooden pergola.

We lend our car to our guests!: t is absolutely a necessity to have a car for staying in Trullo della Luna. It is a detached villa in a rural area and a car is needed for any simple movement. If you desire to have our Fiat Panda, just confirm you want it! We don't ask any fee for this. You will take it in Brindisi, close to the airport. In the priviledged section of our site, dedicated to our guests, you will find accurate details about the route from Brindisi to the trullo and the shortcut to the sea and to the main attractions. The car is a Fiat Panda. The insurance covers all risks (car driver included). At the end of the stay you'll simply leave it in the same place. We will ask you to fill up again with gasoline!

We had a brilliant holiday at the Trullo della Luna. It is a perfect getaway and situated in Puglia, a very beautiful part of Italy . We found the trullo without any problems at all - fantastic directions! A car is a necessity not only because the trullo is in a peaceful, quiet location, but also because there is so much to see. It has been renovated wonderfully, it was a pleasure to stay in. I would happily recommend this property to friends.

If ever you needed a place to unwind and indulge in the most delicious local delicacies, Trulla della Luna is it! Enjoying lazy summer days barbequeing and lolling by the pool was extraordinary.
The nearby towns and seaside from the Adriatic to Ionion coasts were a pleasure to explore.
We definitely recommend a visit

We stayed at the Trullo della Luna in July and it was fabulous. It has been renovated sympathetically, simply and beautifully and was exactly as we had hoped for. Our kids are relatively young (8 & 4) and they loved the trullo and pool plus seeing the old towns (and of course the Italian culture is very family orientated), but I should point out that whilst it was fine for us, for those who have younger kids its worth noting that the pool doesn't have a shallow end.
Paolo's detailed instructions made everything very straightforward and Costanza who is the local contact person was extremely helpful during our stay.
Agree with previous review that a car is essential - we visited many of the places that Paolo recommended and also the property is fairly remote.

Peaceful corner of southern Italy

We spent a lovely honeymoon here in May 2009. The trullo has been well restored, and the pool and BBQ facilities are lovely. The trullo is located in a fascinating part of Italy, with pretty medieval towns within driving distance, and both the Adriatic and the Ionian coasts only an hour or so's drive away. Paulo the owner is very friendly and helpful, his English is good, and he has produced comprehensive instructions to accompany the workings of the trullo (the alarm, the pool, the fiat panda which can be hired along with the trullo, etc). We would definitely recommend a stay at Trullo della Luna! Amy and Josh
