The Sotogrande Polo Club has also played a large part in projecting images of luxurious Sotogrande villas into the public eye. It is one of the finest polo clubs in Spain, and the Sotogrande Marina (550 moorings) becomes filled with a range of magnificent yachts when polo competitions are held. Waterskiing, jet skiing and sailing schools are available from the Marina.

In the evenings, when you have left either the golf course or the sandy beaches which line the stretch of Spain’s Costa del Sol within Sotogrande, there are a great range of top class restaurants and bars in which to indulge.

The Guadiaro Estuary is a beautiful area, protected due to the wealth of bird life which lives in the marshland. Birdwatchers or those who enjoy walking in stunning surroundings will really enjoy visiting the Guadiaro Estuary from a Sotogrande apartment.

There is no reason to leave the estate once you have settled into your holiday rental accommodation in Sotogrande, but if you feel like a change of surroundings one day, the village of Alcaidesa makes a great trip. Having stayed true to its fishing village routes, the village has a wonderfully traditional feel, yet also hides secret treasures like its excellent golf course and a few atmospheric cafes and restaurants.

There is very rarely bad weather in Sotogrande, as the resort basks in over 330 days of sun every year. With average annual temperatures of 22˚C, and summer peaks reaching into the high 30’s (˚C), there is never a bad time to visit. Some of the more luxury villas in Sotogrande have pools, which are a genuine treat during July and August.

Flights to Sotogrande, Spain

Gibraltar International Airport (GIB) is just 15 minutes from ant of the self catering accommodation in Sotogrande. There are regular flights from London to Gibraltar provided by British Airways and Monarch. Alternatively, Malaga Airport (AGP) is within an hour’s drive of the estate, meaning that there are plenty of options.
