Over 300 yrs old Chassigneux is set on top of a hill amidst totally peaceful pastureland with some breathtaking views over the Morvan. The perfect setting to just sit, relax and enjoy everything Burgundy has to offer. The property is just as suitable for groups of upto 6 people as it is for a couple looking for a romantic getaway.The Gite is beautifully renovated barn that sits apart from the main farmhouse into the side of the hill and can sleep up to 6 people. It is available to rent for all year round. Weekly or nightly. The friendly, Scottish owners who live in the main farmhouse can offer advice on places to visit, restaurants, etc. A welcome hamper containing essential items for when you first arrive awaits and you can also try the fresh, organic eggs. There are lots of things to do, great walking routes (some start on your doorstep!) and places to visit. Beautiful old towns include Autun (20 min), Beaune (40 min) for the vineyards and cellars open to visitors! Bourbon-Lancy, Nevers, Magny Cours, Nuits-St-Georges, Dijon etc are all easily accessible. Or if you fancy a day trip to Paris its only an hour and a half by train from Luzy. The local village of Issy l'Eveque is only 5 minutes away by car with good facilities, supermarket, chemist, bakers, butchers, pubs and restaurants etc.

Notes: Each room inside the Gite is generously and comfortably furnished, spacious and traditionally decorated with large exposed beams. The kitchen / Living area is a large open plan area. It is fully equipped with a built in modern gas oven & hob, kettle, coffee making machine, microwave, washing machine, fridge freezer and a dining room table with chairs. The lounge area is comfortably furnished with traditional furniture, satellite TV, DVD, and has a lovely wood burning stove. There is also an addition sofa bed in the dining area which will sleep an extra two people

This is a beautifully appointed, scrupulously clean, well equipped, warm and comfortable cottage. There is a lovely and very private garden. We enjoyed cosy evenings in front of the wood burning stove and feasted on eggs provided by the free range hens that range around the property during the day. The owners of this property are very hospitable and helpful. They are close enough to provide support/information when needed, but there is still good privacy.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
