Semi detached country house on the hills between Lucca and the coast
'Il Basso' situated on the hills of Tuscany, in Lucca area, is the home of the well known contemporary Italian painter Paolo Baratella. It is a charming farmhouse renovated to the highest standard of modern comfort and convenience, still keeping its rustic appeal. The villa has a spectacular panoramic view of the Tuscan hills and mountains, and it is located between Lucca and Massaciuccoli Lake. On a clear day it is possible to see the islands of Gorgona and Corsica. Behind the house there is an open forest, ideal for long walks. On the ground floor there is a living room with french doors leading to a large pergola where you can enjoy al fresco meals The kitchen has a large fireplace, refrigerator, and dishwasher. The second and third floors have four bedrooms and two bathrooms plus a small extra room. The house can sleep 8 people.

'Il Basso' is situated on the hills around Lucca, 45min drive from Florence, and 20min drive from Lucca, Pisa and and the beaches of Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi. Not far from the house, you can reach Massaciuccoli Lake, where Giacomo Puccini wrote most of his Operas. Massaciuccoli is part of a Natural Park where you can practice birdwatching or touring by boat.
