The romantic self-catering villa 'Laudinie' is beautifully placed on a hill with a breathtaking view over wide valleys and soft hills. A driveway leads 100 meters away from a country lane to the house which is situated in the middle of its own land without immediate neighbours. If it is peace and quiet, inspiration and recreation you're looking for, you will find it in Laudinie. The vast swimming pool and the astonishing sunbathing area around it invites you to relax, tank sun and energy. For those who prefer to keep cool, there are enough shady corners under the big palm and fruit trees. The covered barbecue area allows for grilling even under unfavourable weather conditions. Through the idyllic inner courtyard as well as from the big living room you can access the magnificent terrace from where you can witness amazing sunsets and starlit skies.

The house Laudinie is located in the middle of the Périgord Noir in the department of Dordogne within the community of Fleurac. The two most proximately placed towns are Les Eyzies (7km) and Rouffignac (7km), the two closest cities Sarlat (25km) and Perigeux (45km). This mulit-faceted area is famous for its regional exquisite products - from black truffles to Fois Fras, to Confit de Canard, to fine wines (e.g. Bergeracois). The simply magnificent scenery has much on offer: caves with prehistoric rock paintings (e.g. Lascaux and La Grotte de Rouffignac), stalactite caves (e.g. La Grotte du Grande Roc), castles, museums, rivers and beautiful oak tree and chestnut forests. Each day there is an alternative local market you can go and visit in a close-by idyllic village. The villa is situated 100 meters away from a country lane on a hill from which your view flows freely over valleys and the house's own untouched land.

  • The house is large enough to accomodate10 people but also has the character to make just two feel cozy. All three bedrooms are on the first floor, where the beautiful oak beamed ceilings create a charming ambiance. The luxurious studio bedroom is situated in the inner courtyard. Bedlinen are provided and included - enough spare bedlinen available. All mattresses and bedding are of a very high standard and maintained regularly. ..... Children: there are many toys available, including a rocking horse, a dollhouse, stuffed animals, Lego, puzzles, boardgames, and a wide variety of books for all age brackets. there are also a few family movies.

Notes: Pool: The vast pool (20 x 47 feet and up to 12 feet deep!) is unsuitable for non-swimmers. the pool area gives you complete privacy and relaxation, seamed by palm trees and valley views. ........ House: The newly renovated traditional kitchen has a special charm through the big open fireplace and is right next to the spacious living room / dining room as well as leading into the inner courtyard. In the courtyard there is another table with benches (esp. nice for breakfasts). The deep-red tiled floors are typical for the country houses in the Perigord Noir. The house has a central heating system and is hence not only attractive in the summer months.

Surroundings: The romantic and idyllic villages and towns with the diverse restaurants and markets are a paradise for every gourmet and lover of the French eating and drinking culture (e.g. black truffles, Fois Gras, Confit de Canard, Bergeracois wines). The Périgord Noir is famous for its many castles and fortresses as well as for the world famous caves and grottos like the one at Lascaux or the Grotte de Rouffignac. The two rivers La Vezere and La Dordogne as well as the beautifully untouched oaktree and chestnut forests add to the regional charm and can be explored through the well-maintained, extensive net of hiking, biking, canoeing and horse riding opportunities.

Golf: There are 7 golf courses in the region, 4 of which are 18 holes. the closest golf course can be reached in 10 minutes.

Other Activities: Golfing, castle and cave viewings (e.g. Lascaux), canoeing, wine tasting, mushroom picking, paint balling, museums, wide variety of local markets.

Just splendid!
The joy was (and still is) great over this great discovery we’ve made. For years we’ve been renting holiday homes now for our ‘best weeks’ of the year, but seldom have we had such a positive surprise! For this price level there truly is a lot to enjoy. The situation of the house can hardly be topped, the pool is just fantastic, the quiet impressive, the house is full of charme and character, the equipment surprisingly generous, the beds high quality and everything was clean. What more can you ask for? We shall be back for sure.

We spent a marvellous time in Laudinie. Because the house is in such a good location we could go on many adventures and explore the beautiful region. There are enorm opportunities to venture around the area, but we also enjoyed coming back ‘home’ each time, especially to enjoy the full array of tastes from delicatessen bought from the local open markets. We spent unforgettable moments on the dreamlike terrasse. The house is really well equipped and we did not miss a thing. In addition the house was very clean and the care offered was discrete and very helpful. We definitely recommend the house and should we ever come by the Dordogne again this will for sure be worth another stay.

we spent an incredibly beautiful and sunny week in Laudinie, the house has plenty of charme and is authentically french, we felt at home immediately. The whole of Laudinie is full of lovely details and the breathtaking beauty of the nature surrounding the house is inspiring. Apart from the dreamlike swimming pool we especially loved the big bedrooms – i personally thought the high quality matresses were splendid – and the vast, very special bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped and the whole house were clean – our thanks to the owners and we definitely plan on coming back!
