This spacious apartment has stunning views to the sea front, the neighbouring historic castle of Sao Joao and the marina of Portimao. Stylishly furnished there is a large lounge area and a seperate dining area with an open plan kitchen. Two sets of double doors are leading from the lounge onto the very large terrace; facing south west it is ideally located for all day use until evening with stunning sunsets. The three bedrooms all have their own access to the terrace, each with its own / shower / bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with its own breakfast bar; there is a large reception hall and a storage room with a spare fridge/freezer. The apartment is located at the end of Club Rio turning away from all the remaining units. Club Rio is a small private development, the only one in Ferragudo on the 'beach side' of the road. There is a walk in swimming pool, a garden and private parking. Restaurants and shops are only minutes away so is Ferragudos large secluded sandy beach.

Club Rio is located between the old convent of Ferragudo to its right and the historic Castle of St. Joao do Arade. Closest to Club Rio you find the small beach of Angrinha overlooked by the Castle itself and if you walk passed the Castle you find one of the finest natural sandy beaches, Praia Grande. There you find watersport facilities as well as beach side bars and restaurants. Opposite Ferragudo is the newly built marina of Portimao. Ferragudo itself is is a very picturesque village, its narrow streets and old town houses unspoilt, often depicted as thee typical Algarve fishing village. A short walk form the apartment down the cobbled streets of Ferragudo takes you to the village square and to the adjacent small fishing harbour with its restaurants and bars. A 10 minutes drive will take you to the bustling town of Portimao with some of the best shopping in the Algarve. My husband and I stayed at this apartment 30 April 2008 for 9 nights. It was lovely, I was disappointed to read the previous comments by 'pooperscooper' from Swansea. We are looking to re-book and had to give you our comments. Here goes - we are fussy people trust me, this was our third trip to Ferragudo and first stay here but no means our last. The apartment is in a beautiful location, the views are unique and very well equipped inside, clean and spacious. We agree the patio furniture is tired and could be replaced as should the BBQ. We asked for new tools for the BBQ and recieved them the same day and a new coffee machine. We too did have a problem with the management agents not recieivng the visits that we were promised, but hey, chill we are on holiday but wouldn't want it to happen again as we did mention it upon our return. The dogs are part of the Algarve, get used to it or do not go. The decor of the apartment is contemporary, 'Arty' and tasteful. It is privatley owned and people must respect and appreciate this. Overall we only went out twice as we were happy to stay in the apartment and utilise the facilities. We liaised with 'Eva' several times by email prior to our visit and found her efficient and helpful. We would recommend this place to our friends and family.

A lovely large apartment but not kept in very good condition by local cleaners/management. Some patio funiture in poor condition and dirty. Internal furnishings somewhat exotic and cluttered. Dogs roaming the beach and local streets leaving their mess behind were a constant nuisance. Beach in front of apartment not very pleasant because of this although there is an excellent beach just arond the corner. Two good restaurants close by. Locals very friendly.
Owner advised of the hygiene problems in the apartment by letter on my return to the UK. Several weeks later no reply received. Poor customer service. Would not recommend this property to a friend.
Owner's Response: Out of all the rentals we have had over a period of more than 10 years, 45% are repeat bookings and over 25% of guests have been to the apartment between 3 and 12 times ! This is the very first complaint we have received. Above guests did book out of season and booked at very short notice, still there should not be the need for complaints about the cleanliness of the apartment and we are having a serious discussion with our management about this incident, which we strongly believe to be a one off. As for dogs roaming the streets of Southern Portugal, this is a feature of an Algarve holiday, that I can honestly not do a lot about. What really seemed to have upset these particular guests, was the late response to their letter. Well, the booking was made bey e-mail, so was the rest of the correspondance - the guests were advised, that I was going abroad , so it was impossible for me to answer to a letter sent to my home address. I did take my computer to keep in touch with all e-mails and a response by e-mail would have got an immediate answer.
As for our guests personal opinion about the interior design of the apartment, I decline to respond - look at the pictures and judge for yourselve, whether you like it or not.
