Large self catering houses, near Keswick, the jewel of the Lake District
Two beautiful houses with fabulous views over Lake Derwentwater. Large enclosed gardens. Pets and children welcome. Each has a patio to sit out and enjoy the views. Keswick with all its attractions -shops, theatre, cinema, and all sorts of boating on the lake is just a couple of miles away. Hundreds of walks of all types, cycle hire, canoe hire, sailing dinghy hire are all easily available. Keswick and the surrounding villages have lots of pubs, restaurants and places to eat, and children are always welcome. The beautiful scenery is all around, and you get panoramic views of it from the gardens and patios. Each house is centrally heated, and also offers a coal fire for those chilly nights, and has all the usual equipment: TV, DVD, CD player, fridge, freezer, microwave, laundry etc. Applethwaite itself is a quiet little backwater, and children and pets can wander in safety. Orchard Barn has six bedrooms and three bathrooms; Derwent Lea has four bedrooms and two bathrooms.

A superb family houses with fabulous views. Orchard Barn sleeps up to twelve in six bedrooms, and has a huge lounge, fully equipped kitchen , dining room and large private garden. Pets and children are welcome, and it’s ideal for two families or walking groups. Just two miles from Keswick in the heart of the Lake District, this is an ideal walking or climbing centre, or for visits to the hundreds of Lakeland attractions. Two bedrooms have double beds, the rest have twin beds. Storage heater central heating and an optional coal fire keeps the house snug in the coldest of winters. Outside the patio is well equipped and faces South with fabulous views over the valley and mountains. Applethwaite village is a quiet little backwater, well off the main road, and the views from the house are magnificent. Keswick with its many attractions and Lake Derwentwater are just two miles away.
