FELICE ROMANI: Moneglia, land of music and poetry. Two centuries after Luca Cambiaso, another son of Moneglia rose to international fame. Felice Romani was born in Genoa in 1788 but he adopted Moneglia as his native town. He was one of the most noted opera lyric writers of the 19th century. He worked with Rossini, Bellini, Verdi and Donizetti. One of his famous works, Norma, was brought to life right here in Moneglia. Every year the Felice Romani Musical Society organizes a full season of concerts in the Oratory of the Flagellants (l'Oratorio dei Disciplinanti).

The rocky outcrops of Punta Moneglia and Punta Baffe can be reached by following the paths up through the greenery of the vegetation that reflects in the blue of the sea. The mountains of Moneglia and Mezzema crown the bay, and you can reach them by walking or pedaling immersed in the greenery and fresh air, which restores your strength after the daily or nocturnal fatigues of a seaside holiday.
