This is a 1960's terraced holiday home with two bedrooms and easy car parking. The house has a front balcony and its main feature is the very good location of the house. It sits virtually right on the beach (i.e. just across the seafront road which is not particularly busy) with access to the sea at all states of the tide. It is ideal as a self catering holiday rental which provides good accommodation for four to five people. The bustling and vibrant seaside resort of the City of Brighton is a 30 minute car ride away in a Westerly direction. Likewise in an Easterly direction in the same time you can get to the lovely sunny resort town of Eastbourne with its miles of beachfront, bandstand, theatres, Ladies Tennis tournament and, of course, the now famous Airbourne show held in August. Of particular note is the proximity of this house to the ferry port of Newhaven with regular sailings to Dieppe in France. Within a few miles you have the glorious Sussex Downs and the downland villages.

Seaford is a sunny seaside resort located halfway between the vibrant City of Brighton & Hove and the sunny Victorian seaside resort of Eastbourne. The ferry port of Newhaven is a short distance away and from here you can sail to Dieppe in France for the day. A short walk or car drive takes to the shopping centre of the town and also to the railway station with regular trains to Lewes and London. Inland from Seaford you have the South Downs and its many lovely little downland villages and pubs. The holiday home in Seaford makes an ideal base for a self catering 'get-away-from-it-all' break as it is so close to the sea. The accommodation is ideal for four people but with a Z-bed it will sleep a fifth person. There is plenty of opportunity for walking in either direction. The ancient and historic town of Lewes(the County Town of East Sussex) is especially worth a visit.

  • The above rental rates allow for four people to occupy the house. Please add £50 per week for a fifth person. The rates are all-inclusive of electricity and gas costs. Should your stay be of at least two weeks there will be a linen/towel change each week. There is a returnable damage/cleaning deposit of £200 to be paid. This amount will be returned in full as soon as possible after the house has been checked over by the owner of their representatives.

Notes: This is a very convenient little holiday home set right on the beach and equidistant between Brighton and Eastbourne. The location makes it ideal for any short term self catering holiday rental particularly during the Summer months but as it is available all year it would be very useful for a longer rental period out of season at competitive rates. Being close to the Newhaven ferry port for a day trip to France is also a great asset of this holiday home. The train station at Seaford is only a short distance away and there is a regular service to London(Victoria) taking 90 minutes.

Was not impressed with cleanliness of house, there were animal hairs on the bottom of furniture and we had a child with us who has asthma and is allergic to cats and dogs. Spider webs in upstairs hall had been there for a while as they were black with dirt. Mattresses left a lot to be desired - very uncomfortable. Directions to property needs to be improved. The entrance door is actually on another street. You cannot get to the seafront from the front (?) door, there is a solid brick wall at the end of the garden, so you have to walk from the back (?) door all the way around the row of houses, to get to the seafront.
Owner's Response: I was very distressed to read the above review about our house, not least of all because we have many repeat customers who come back regularly and nobody has ever commented along these lines. I consider our cleaner to be very good. Sometimes it is not possible, however, to get around to a thorough spring clean between lets, given that the house is used so regularly, but certainly her standard of cleaning is very good. As for the dog hairs, we do sometimes take pets and, as with anywhere which is pet welcoming, evidence of them may be found as anybody with a pet will know that it is never possible to eradicate all traces of them. Had we been asked about this, or been told that there was an allergic child with these clients, we would have advised that maybe they should consider another property. Regarding the front wall, that is there precisely to ensure safety of children and animals, who might otherwise run out of a gate into the busy seafront road. The walk from the door of the house to the beach cannot be more than 75 yards. Nobody has ever commented on the lack of a gate before. We are sorry if this client was disappointed, but I can assure you that we have many satisfied customers who return to us year after year, and we have been letting the house for over ten years now.
