Excellent value for money

Loek, Simone and Devon Landgraaf, Netherlands
Review Submitted: October 18, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
The apartment is new, spacious and well equiped. The two bathrooms for two bedrooms are a great advantage. The terrace is superb with a beautiful view, even in case of a thunderstorm. The flatscreen tv, dvd-player etc. come in handy on a lazy evening. There is a private parking lot in the parking garage below which can be reached with a lift. The swimming pool looked great, but the weather did not allow us to test it. The apartment being situated a few miles from Altea, you absolutely need a car to get you to nearby shops, Benidorm and other places of interest.
In short: great value for money.
Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed your stay and thanks for taking the time to share your .

Terrazzas revisited

Loek, Simone and Devon Landgraaf, Netherlands
Review Submitted: September 10, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
Loek and I went back to the apartment in August 2009, having been there in October 2008. This time my 15 year old daughter went with us.
We found everything just as we remembered it, with the exception of the kitchen which is now much better equipped. The washing machine with its fast programme proved to be very useful.
This time the weather allowed us to use the pool, which we did every day. It is well maintained and a lovely place to spend a lazy afternoon.
The terrace is a great place to be on a hot summer night in Altea: spacious and with a great view.
My daughter had a great time too; happy to have a bathroom to herself and enjoying the pool, the "beach beds" on the terrace and the size of the tv when watching a dvd.
The three of us had a great time and wouldn't mind coming back (again)!

Great Views, Great Apartment - but..........

Annie303 Derbyshire, England
Review Submitted: June 20, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We'd endorse the things that the other reviewers say - its a brilliant apartment, in a great location, and an excellent pool - and very peaceful.

There are plenty of kitchen appliances, but we felt that a couple of real basics were lacking, e.g. kitchen knives for chopping and preparing food - there wasn't so much as a bread knife!

The bedding was particularly scanty. For our double bed we had
2 pillows,
2 pillowcases (which were too small to fit over the pillows - so uncomfortable as well as unhygenic),
1 undersheet,
1 one quilt cover.
And that was it - no quilt or blanket was provided! While most nights during our stay were warm, we had a couple which weren't, and an extra cover was sorely missed.

There was no 'welcome pack' in the apartment, giving information about the apartment, its locality, emergency numbers, etc. We were 3 days into our holiday before we found where to take rubbish - we wrongly assumed that there must be somewhere provided on the complex. Things like this are not important once you know, but become fairly major when you don't!

On the positive side, theres no doubt that the few things needed to bring this apartment up to standard could be provided at very minimal cost. I hope this happens - its a great place, that just lacks the basic comfort factor.

Sky users at home might like to know that although you can view some sky channels at the apartment, the owner does not actually subscribe to Sky. But if you do, I'm given to understand that you could take your own card from home and use it at the apartment if you wished to - not a bad option to have on a stormy night.
Owner's Response: I have just returned from our apartment and surveyed in person the points you have raised.I have delayed my response for this reason.

It would seem that the bread knife had 'gone missing' which I supose is one of the hazards of letting and had not been spotted by our managers so is now replaced.... "not so much as a bread knife" may sound like there is no equipment in the kitchen which is obviously not the case as you will see from other coments. I looked carefully to see if there was anythng else I could add and in all honesty we cooked fresh food on 3 nights and I had everything I needed!! so think your comment here is a bit harsh and probably due to the missing bread knife so sorry about that.,

We do only provide one pillow per head and have never had complaints before....there were 2 more pillows on the single beds you weren't using so maybe you could have used those?

During the summer months we leave 7 tog quilts on the top shelf in our wardrobes and I am assured they were there (there is nowhere else to store them) during your stay as they always are...if you were cold then you just put them inside the the quilt cover, and if you are hot take them off again. Spanish pillows are slightly bigger than uk ones so if the wrong pillow cases were put on then again sorry but my cleaning ladies are aware of this so not sure how this could have hapened, they tell me they only have the 3 sets that I provide for them so bit of a mystery on that one. One under sheet???? not sure about the problem with that!

Your keys come in a pre printed envelope with 2 numbers on, one mobile and one office number...the mobile number is for out of hours. Many private rentals do not offer a 24hr help line and we are very proud to do this for you and it is at some expense to ourselves but gives us peace of mind and hopefully no phone calls to the uk in the middle of the night! As you introduced yourselves to our managers in their offices it is a shame that you didn't mention the little problems as they will bend over backwards to help.

Lastly if people wish to bring their own sky cards then that is up to them but I am not allowed to reccomend that. There are aprox 20 Eng speaking channels inc channel 5 and sky news through our dish but if you put your own card in you may get more.

I thank you for your feedback, and hope that the niggles didn't spoil your time at our beautiful home in the sun.

Fantastic - missing it already

Hema London, United Kingdom
Review Submitted: September 16, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
This apartment is great, in a lovely location where you can take time out and just unwind, but close enough to Altea town and Benidorm if you fancy something a bit busier.

I stayed at the apartment with my family, including my sister who is in a wheelchair, although she needed help getting into the apartment and out of it, she had a great time and didn't have any trouble doing things for herself. As with the other review, our breakfast's turned into marathons on the terrace, we just loved it and as it was so peaceful you really got a chance to just relax and get away from it all.

We would love to stay again!

P.S: the sofas are amazingly comfortable as well!

Fabulous Views!

Sue&Mike Solihull, West Midlands
Review Submitted: July 8, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
Everything about this apartment was exactly as described and more. Extremely well furnished, maintained and equipped.
We stayed at the apartment with our daughter, son-in-law and baby grandson (his first mediterranean holiday). The apartment is very spacious, with two large bedrooms, two bathrooms and both fantastic indoor and outdoor living space - perfect for two couples or a group.
The terrace with its fabulous views of both the sea and the mountains, has beautiful furniture for both dining and relaxing, so much so that breakfast became the longest meal of the day!
The large pool with its magnificent Sierra de Bernia mountain backdrop has grass, tiled and covered areas for sunbathing and relaxing together with a good childrens section.
There is so much to see and do in and around the Altea area from beautiful villages, towns and beaches, to theme parks its impossible to be bored. Favourites are Vilajoyosa (beautiful sandy beach), Altea (old town - excellent restaurants), Polop de la Marina (views from Church), Guadalest, Albir Playa - to name a few.
We highly recommend this apartment, its a fantastic base, in a beautiful quiet location - we have several friends in the area so our break was about visiting as well as sight seeing - the apartment was so nice we could quite easily have not moved at all!
Owner's Response: Thanks for your feedback... it's exactly how we feel about our very special place in the Spanish sunshine.
