Totally private historic farmhouse nestled in 13 acres of olive terraces and natural oak-chestnut woodland above the tranquil Niccone Valley on the Tuscany-Umbrian borders. Sole occupancy and privacy are assured, yet this stone farmers house, dating back over 700 years, is only a short walk to the traditional Italian village of Mercatale. Wildlife abounds in the adjoining hills and forests, and Casa Cattani's location is ideally situated between the 'Green Heart of Italy' - Umbria, with its wild mountains and fortified hilltop towns, and the classical romanticism of the broad Tuscan landscape of Florence, Siena and Cortona. In all directions, gastronomic delights await curious and resourceful visitors. Casa Cattani has been recently sympathetically restored and is currently ideally suited to couples or small families who are interested in the Italian culture and cuisine.

Lake Trasimeno, famed for its beaches, its sailing, and its artisanal lace-making on its islands, is only 10km away. Etruscan ruins and archaeological sites abound, and can be easily seen and visited in Cortona, Perugia and Orvieto.
