This self catering ocean facing, waterfront apartment, set on the cliff top, in landscaped gardens is in a excellent location for your holiday rental, relaxing, peaceful, romantic. From the balcony watch the sunrise over the Desertes Islands, and later in the day you can just relax and take in the stunning views, listen to sounds of the waves, watch the sunset in the evening, and the moon glistening on the water at night. Although, the apartment is only a few minutes walk to restaurants, shops, supermarket, banks, taxi's ranks, bus stop and promenade walk, with its cliff top position, it is well away from the road, in a wonderful location.The centre of Funchal, is a pleasant 10-15 min walk. The apartment is very spacious and comfortable, and furnished to a very high standard, fully equipped for your every need, to enable you to have a relaxing holiday. We are there to add that personal touch, and greet you on your arrival, and answer any questions you may have.

Situated on the Estrada Monumental, where many 5 star hotels and restaurants, bars, shops, supermarket, banks, taxi ranks, bus stop, all within a few minutes walk. The centre of Funchal is a pleasant walk, 10-15min, or a few minutes by bus or taxi. There is access (via the adjacent restaurant) an olympic size swimming pool, and sea access. Within a few minutes walk, of the apartment, there is also a promenade which there are several swimming complex's, and a stony beach and rock pools at the end of the promenade. New large shopping mall within a 10min walk, and a cinema, (English films). There are several places close by for fishing as well. Internet cafes. Lovely restaurants of all kinds. Beautiful leveda walks, cable car with spectacular views taking you to exotic gardens. Whale & dolphin trips, sunset cruises, big game fishing, Take a tour to the top of the island, and look down on the clouds below you. Diving& lessons. Two challenging golf courses. Or just relax.

  • The apartment has two spacious bedrooms, one is a double room, with large double bed, bedside tables, dressing table, mirror, and fitted wardrobes, plenty of storage space and hanging space, there are french doors leading out to a small balcony, with seaview. There is a roller blind on the outside of the french doors, which can be closed, and enable you to have a nice cool breeze at night. The double room has ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom has two single beds, bedside table, mirror,.and fitted wardrobes, and french doors leading onto another small balcony, with roller blind. The main bathroom is next door to the second bedroom. There are electric fans and hairdryers, alarms clocks, and beach towels, in both bedrooms. The bedding and soft furnishings are to a very high standard. The apartment is not suitable for young children,

Notes: We supply all linen and towels, plus beach towels, hairdryers, electric fans. Weekly change of the beds and towels and cleaning of the apartment. The apartment is very spacious light and cool with lovely sea breezes. There is one large double bedroom, with ensuite bathroom, one twin bedroom and full bathroom. Fully equipped kitchen, spacious lounge/diner and balcony. The lounge/diner, bedrooms and kitchen all have balconies and sea views. There are french doors on the dining room of the lounge/diner which open onto a beautiful sea view as well, a wonderful and romantic setting when eating. The furnishing of the apartment are very comfortable and to a high standard. The lounge/diner has large glass balcony doors with panoramic seaviews, and is furnished with a 3 seater sofa, one arm chair,3 side tables, Cable TV, DVD, CD Player, Radio.. Large supply of books, some DVDs and CDs. The dining room has table and 6 chairs. With two side cupboards, with glasses, table cloths, etc.

On your arrival: On your arrival we can arrange transport for you to and from the airport, we have taxi driver's we have used for many years, and are friendly and very reliable, and speak very good English. They will collect you from the airport and take you to the apartment where we will be there to greet you and show you around the apartment, and to answer any questions you may have. There will a welcome pack for you on arrival also. If you should need any extra help or advice during your stay we would be pleased to help. The apartment is very central, with good transport available close by, so hiring a car is not really necessary unless you wish to, and if so there is car parking available at the apartment. There is also a hire car office in the courtyard of the apartment , so if you do wish to hire a car for the odd day, it is very convenient for pick-up and return of the car. We have tried to put all the little extra touches to the apartment to make your stay more enjoyable.

During your stay: There is a portfolio of useful information which includes maps, leaflets from local attractions, restaurants to try, excursions, wonderful walks, exotic gardens, golf etc. If you are golfers there is our two challenging golf courses in Madeira,- Palherio, which is a short 15 mins drive, or Santo Serra, which is 35min drive. We are pleased to be able to offer a 30% discount on green fees at Palherio Course. Sunbeds available for sunbathing in the gardens. The balcony is a beautiful relaxing setting, with panoramic views, it is a lovely spot to retire to after your day of shopping or exploring this beautiful island, which our guests find very hard to leave.

On your departure: On your departure we will return to the apartment to bid you farewell, and to ensure you have had a good holiday. The time of departure from the apartment on the day is flexible, depending on the time of new arrival's. The usual time of departure is 10am, but luggage can be left until your departure to the airport.

the most wonderful property

My husband and I have been to this apartment twice now, once in December and once in July and both times have had a marvellous time. The flat is furnished to perfection and in a wonderful location and the owners cannot do more to help you enjoy Madeira to the full. I would recommend this property to anyone and everyone. There are several very nice restaurants in the location particularly Moby Dick which is just downstairs and taxis and busses are available a minutes walk away. Absolutely first class.

Stunning Views

A lovely comfortable apartment with views to die for. The owners or their representatives are extremely friendly and helpful. There is no need to hire a car as the bus stop is right outside. If you buy pre paid tickets it is so cheap and exciting to get around. Get a bus timetable and enjoy the ride. The levada walks are absolutley stunning, some not for the faint hearted!

I would highly recommend this apartment, the position is perfect, close enough to town but still peaceful. Looking forward to returning.

Me & my hubby & our friends always book our own holidays places, flights, & hotels or places to stay . My hubby found Marie's apartment on the internet, & oh my god it was the best place we have every picked, It was the lovelyest apartment we have ever stayed in & the view was the best we have ever seen , We have never been to Madiera before but we sure will be going back there & we will definately be wanting to stay in this beautiful apartment of Marie & Adrian's The picture on the internet does not do it justice . Very relaxing stay

We had a lovely time in this spacious apartment overlooking the sea, with no traffic noise. The balcony is small but we had several meals sitting out there watching the various boats go by and looking into the Paradise restaurant next door. It is in a cul de sac off of the Estrada Monumental about 7 - 10 minutes west of Reids and about a 20 minute stroll into Funchal port (my husband does not do fast walking). There were supermarkets and restaurants within a few minutes walk and Marie even provides a bag on wheels so that you do not have to carry the shopping. We found a lovely restaurant in the local shopping centre that you would not have visited but for a review in the guest book. It is near the bag shop downstairs and the chef/owner is so proud of his establishment that he takes the time to explain everything to you, we had 2 lovely meals there. The Moby Dick is the basement of the flats is lovely, the food is very good. I left my cardigan there one evening and they watched for us coming out of the apartment to return it. The Strawberry World tour company is at the top of the road under the Lido hotel and we would recommend the West of the Island Tour. We would definately recommend this apartment and will certainly return to Madeira.

A Room with a view

A wonderful apartment, clean, well provided and spacious, the photographs don't really do it justice. The view from the balcony can become addictive - and very relaxing.

Located in an ideal position just a step away from two excellent restaurants and a few minutes walk from the other local shops etc.

Relaxing walks along the prom or into Funchal for a change of scenery. An excellent local bus service or taxis at hand to make getting around easy.

Mr and Mrs Thompson were really helpful and welcoming, even to organising the taxi from and to the airport.

It was our first experience of Madeira, it will not be our last.
