My family of 5 stayed here in June and thought it was terrific. Excellent condition with all the feeling of being in your own home. We would highly recommend this property.

The Cove, Baltimore, West Cork

We stayed in this beautiful house for a week in May 2009. The location, on the beach, only a short stroll from the centre of Baltimore, was ideal for my wife, myself and our pet labrador. Baltimore is a fatastic place with masses of things to see and do.
The house itself was great, very well appointed with beautiful furnishings and an open fireplace. The kitchen and dining area are particularly good and the lounge area is very comfortable.
I would certainly recommend this house to my friends and we would love to go back in the future

Great holiday home

the happy visitor Dublin Ireland
Review Submitted: July 2, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
This is a great family holiday home in a brilliant location. We have returned to it many times over the years and continue to be delighted by the lovely view of the picturesque harbour from both the top and bottom front windows of the house.

There is a spacious, well equipped kitchen and a great big dining table in the large airy and bright extension and loads of room to sprawl around in. There is plenty of seating and an open fireplace for the cooler nights. There is also a large front garden area where you can sit in deckchairs and read or admire the view (also a picnic table to the side of the house) - plenty of room for children to run around.

The village of Baltimore is just a few minutes walk up the road and the lovely walk up to the Beacon takes about 10-15 minutes from the front door. It would be easy to leave the car parked in the driveway for a few days as all the ferries to Sherkin and Clare Island are easily accessed from the harbour in Baltimore.

There are loads of good restaurants in the village but our absolute favourites are Glebe House (at the other end of the village but still in walking distance of the house) which uses a lot of the produce from their own garden (which you can walk around for a few euro). Here you can get a reasonably priced good lunch (outdoors or in) and they also serve dinner in the evening.

Rolfs Hostel and restaurant is a little further away from the village and we preferred to drive there. They also do a good lunch and well priced excellent dinner in very nice surroundings.

Drives to Skibbereen, Casthetownshend, Ballydehob and Skull are easy from Baltimore and these destinations are also very enjoyable. Roscarberry and Warren Strand are a must - the strand is great on very hot days for sunbathing or swimming.

We look forward to returning again and again as a family to this house in our favourite holiday location.
