The Borgo di Colleoli is a renovated 15th century farming estate converted into 64 luxury apartments perched on a hilltop and set amidst stunning scenery in its own 23 acres of gardens, terraced vineyards and olive trees. Only 35 minutes drive from Pisa airport the estate has 2 large swimming pools and 2 onsite restaurants serving typical Tuscan food with 2 further restaurants within easy walking distance. 5 Minutes away by car is the medieval town of Palaia with its restaurants, cafes and breathtaking views. The Borgo is ideally situated for visiting Tuscany's main attractions such as Florence, Sienna, Lucca, San Gimignano and the Tuscan coast. There is an on-site English speaking receptionist available at the Borgo 5 days per week to help with bag carrying, restaurant booking, maps/directions, bike hire etc.

Only 35 minutes from Pisa Airport yet in the heart of the classic Tuscan scenery of rolling hills and ancient hilltop villages this is the ideal location to explore the surrounding countryside and famous cities in the area. From the nearby train station at Pontedera you can be at Florence in 30 minutes or Pisa in 15. Siena can be reached by car in 90 minutes and the medieval walled towns of Lucca and San Gimignano in 45. The coast can be reached in around 30 minutes by either car or train with the sandy beaches at Marina DI Pisa and chic resorts such as Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi. Alternatively you could take a taxi from Pisa airport (approx 60 euros) and spend a totally relaxing week unwinding at the Borgo.

The location is remote enough not to have the buzz of the city, but close enough to the major attactions (ie Pisa & Florence) if you prefer day trips.
The people who manage the Borgo property are very friendly and helpful, and make everything easy even if you don't speak Italian. The owner, Jane, is also very helpful and sent out a wonderful information pack which gave of so many ideas.
If you are visiting Italy for the great food...look no further. There were too many amazing resturants to chose from with a range of prices and menus. The best deal we found was the pizza place just outside the Borgo.
The apartment was adorable and the pools incredible. What a great holiday...not one complaint. We will be back soon, and we're bringing friends!

If you are seeking peace and tranquility, I would reccommend staying at the Borgo.
The apartment was very clean and well maintained with personal touches added to the bedroom and living room. The Borgo is so peaceful and beautifully kept, it was wonderful to open the shutters and windows on a morning and lie in bed listening to the morning call of the birds in the trees. Swimming pools are excellent with lots of space and good loungers.
A car is reccommended if you want to see the real rural rolling hills of Tuscany, the views are breathtaking especially on the journey to San Gimignano and Volterra. The olive groves, vineyards, the wild poppies, lemon, orange and cherry trees and not forgetting the Cypress trees are all familiar sites.
Florence is a beautiful City but you probably need about 3 days there to really appreciate everything. The food there is to die for but of course with any city, pricey.
The owners are very helpful and are only an email or phone call away to answer any questions or give any advice. They sent a map, directions and places of interest long before we were due to take our holiday which was very useful as we were able to read up on places of interest. A Tuscan hamper can be arranged for you.
Anyone wanting a holiday "away from it all" I would certainly reccommend this apartment.
