A former silk farm, this lovingly restored authentic Provencale farmhouse offers oodles of character (Terracotta floor tiles, exposed stone and beams, lime washed walls) as well as every comfort. Perfect location 1 mile village centre or just 10 mins. conservation village of Lourmarin, twixt Aix-en-Provence and Avignon. Nestled on a gentle hillside in a tiny hamlet on the edge of a village, in the very heart of the Luberon Park, amidst many reputed hilltop villages, daily Provencale markets, vineyards, lavender fields, orchards, olive groves and historic sites. Vast 40m2 beamed living area with original waxed antique terracotta floor tiles, exposed beams and stone and impressive open log fireplace. 2 spacious double/ twin bedrooms each with quality en suite bathrooms and WC, plus a third separate WC so comfort for all! Pretty, fully-equipped farmhouse kitchen, sat. TV, wifi, DVD player, ping-pong table, badminton, hair drier, Siemens d/washer and washing machine, separate cloakroom. Lovely views over Durance valley and Luberon mountains and forest. Idyllically located in the heart of the South Luberon Natural Regional Park, amidst numerous historic hilltop villages, daily Provençal markets, vineyards, forest trails: a walker's, cyclist's, painter's paradise! You can choose to take both wings of the farmhouse together as one 4-5 bedroomed farmhouse with exclusive, private use of the gardens and swimming pool and pool house which accommodates 2 to 10 persons in the greatest of comfort. If you prefer to take just one wing as a self-contained 2-bedroomed unit for 2 to 6 persons with private garden, but shared pool, then this option is also available to you (see Les Muriers: the East Wing detailed separately for your information).

Availability: The farmhouse is typically Provencale in style and character with great, thick solid stone walls and a terracota tiled roof. It boasts many original features such as exposed beams and stone and antique, waxed terracotta tiles in parts. Thanks to its traditional construction, this Luberon farmhouse offers both a spacious, cool and airy home in the Summer and a warm, cosy, bright home in the winter. There are also mosquito nets and fans for your comfort during summer nights and mostly double-glazed windows for your comfort all year round. There is an impressive open log fireplace in the living room in the East Wing, ideally suited to winter lets.

We spent two exceptionally happy weeks here... All was just as described, the owner provided excellent customer service and was just delightful, and we certainly would recommend the venue to friends. The owner was also very generous in terms of time and adivce on how to make the most of the area, and offered us lots of welcome tips on what to see and where to visit. The Cezanne/Picasso exhibit in Aix was a treasure!

The swimming pool was wonderful - and very well maintained throughout our stay... We ranged in age from 17 to 79, and everyone loved being there. The venue has a real sense of privacy...

And the area is just splendid - with a host of gorgeoous towns and villages within very easy reach.
