Almond Tree Villa is a very attractive large 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom property set in lovely gardens on a quiet estate about 3 miles from Ocho Rios town center on the beautiful north coast of Jamaica. When it comes to holiday rental in this area we don't think you will find a more attractive invitation than this. We have a mini bus available with our driver Peter ready to run you around daily and show you all the local sights at very cheap cost. Almond Tree Villa is a large four bed-roomed residence set in attractive gardens, sleeping up to eleven people comfortably. The villa is situated in the peaceful suburban district of Eltham, only about one mile from the nearest beach and three miles into the centre of Ocho Rios. Ocho Rios is a splendid major tourist resort with an impressive array of hotels, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. The local shops offer everything from arts and crafts to T-shirts and other souvenirs . The market is well worth a visit with its huge selections of exotic fruits, fresh produce and fish. Other nearby tourist attractions include the famous Dunns River Falls, Prospect Plantation and Chukka Cove for horse riding, Dolphin Cove where you can swim with the dolphins, Island Village, Bob Marley's birthplace at Nine Mile and playwright Noel Coward's house Firefly with its spectacular view over Port Maria. The house is within easy reach of several very beautiful beaches.

Bedroom 3, at the front of the house has a large queen size bed, TV, ceiling fan and built in wardrobe. Notes: The house manager Marvin resides at the rear of the property. Marvin is justifiably very proud of his lovely gardens and apart from security, he is always happy to offer his services as chef (and he is an excellent cook), to ensure your holiday is enjoyed to the full. There is a maid service, which is included in the price of your holiday with Rose coming in once a week to clean and change bedding. For those guests who want to get away from it all Rose is also available to do washing and ironing for a very reasonable price. We also have a great set up with a very useful taxi service available to and from the villa with Peter just a phone call away and guaranteeing the cheapest and friendliest of services. We own the Toyota Mini Bus, which is registered as a taxi and Peter works as a self-employed driver. He will supply you with a 'pay as you go' mobile cell phone to use while you are stopping at the house. Just call whenever you need him .

Airport pick up: You can fly into either Kingston or Montego Bay airports. Both airports are about 60 miles away from Ocho Rios and we can arrange for our driver Peter to meet you at the airport with our 12 seater mini bus. Transfer to or from either airport is 1500 JA dollars per person or 1000 JA dollars for children under the age of 16, per one way journey. The minimum chage for smaller parties is 6000 JA dollars total per one way journey.

Daily transport: Junior is available for charter work locally or to any part of the island. Let him show you the sights of Jamaica. He knows all the beauty spots and places of interest, near and far. There are several wonderful beaches within a few miles of the house, Reggae Beach, Shaw Park, James Bond Beach, Laughing Waters and the famous Dunns River Falls are all a must to see. You can arrange for Junior to pick you up daily or even several times a day. Just call him whenever you need him and he will be there to pick you up and drop you into town, to the beach, to eat or wherever you fancy. You will find him reliable and prompt and always sporting a big smile.

Cheap Flights: The cost of flights to Jamaica can vary quite a bit and scheduled flights are much more expensive. Try dialaflight or charterflights - ask us for details. Elite Travel Club who are based in Birmingham are very good and can be contacted on 0121 243 3333.

An ideally situated villa being about a mile from the coast (if you take the shortcut down the track opposite the villa), with very well laid out rooms and a lovely garden. The villa and garden are very well maintained having a house 'manager' who lives at the back of the property who is also a superb cook and is very happy to cook real Jamaican food for you if asked. Also the villa has a ‘tied’ taxi driver – Junior. They say local knowledge is everything and this really is a case where that is true. Junior is absolutely lovely and he made the difference between this being a good holiday and being a fantastic holiday. His prices are very fair as well, being considerably cheaper than the other local taxis. He charged about £35-40 for the trip from Montego Bay Airport to the villa whereas the norm is £70.00 or more! Junior knows some lovely beaches and of course the best places to get food / eat. Whilst there we visited the Bob Marley Mausoleum, The Blue Mountains, Kingston, Reggae Beach, James Bond Beach, The Healing Waters – where a flame burns on the water!, Fishing Villages, Waterfalls and Dunns River Falls – where they cascade down into the sea, fantastic! Although some of the locals (like at the market) can be a bit pushy to buy their wares, if you say ‘no’ and mean ‘no’ they accept that and don’t make you feel uncomfortable as they do in some countries. So if you want to go to Jamaica to see Jamaica and share in all it’s wonders I would Highly Recommend this holiday.

Dealing with Neil the owner before embarking on my journey i was very impressed. He was in contact with me a lot before we left England, he made us feel like we really matterd he call to check flight times to ensure his people would be at Mo Bay to meet us very good custmor skills. When we reached, Pete was there to meet us, he was very friendly and made us feel comfortable. Upon reaching Almond tree, after a 8 hour flight and a 2 hour drive from Mo Bay we were very tired. I was dissapointed to find the house was not completly ready for us. There was no toilet paper and there was a couple of light bulbs missing, not a very good first impression. In fairness Marvin, who lives at the back, was right on it he went and got us the toilet paper and bulb for us. At first we were thinking its nothing like the pictures on the web sight, but it was late and we were tired. After a day or so it became apparent that this place was a little tressure. It soon became a home from home the surrondings in the light of day was beautifull. Marvin was very helpfull and helped us with our every need. One thing i was impressed with was the fact they gave us a mobile phone with all key numbers we would need already pre programmed in it. This was an excellent touch as you are a little bit issolated.
One small criticisum there was a funky smell in the kitchen. I put that down to the fact the house had not been used for a while. The staff were all so friendly and helpfull. Ms Rose the house cleaner was lovley and very thorouger in he work. My favorite member of staff was Galvin he was above and beyound. When ever we called him he was there asap if he said ten mins he was there in ten and he was so helpfull he really took care of us and never tried to rip us off his prices were very reasonble of all the taxi's we used he was the cheapest by far. Pete was allways on call for us and dealt with any problems we had swiftley. Over all it was a very pleasent experience and we'd definetley stay there again. Although the house is a little bit off the beaten track, with good transport links it was a great place to stay. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Owner's Response: Sorry about the missing light bulb and no toilet roll on arrival. This was an oversight by the staff and something that we are usually very much on top of. We know this sort of thing does not create a good first impression but the problem was sorted out immediately and we will make sure it dosen't happen again. Thanks Neil

We stayed at Almond Tree Villa in July for 3 weeks and enjoyed our stay. The villa is in a very nice and safe residential location in Ochi Rios, not too far from the town. The villa is very spacious, and was able to accommodate our large party of 10 which includes a baby comfortably. Neil the owner was very helpful and answered all our queries before the holiday. Marvin, Rose and Big Pete were very nice and made our stayed more enjoyable, we could rely on them if we needed help with anything.We had a good time and would stay there again and will definitely recommend the villa to Family and friends.

Perfect holiday/honeymoon

This villa was perfect for our needs. It was good to be just outside Ocho Rios as it meant peace and quiet when we wanted it. Although the furniture in the property is a little tired it was well equipped and exactly as described. Would recommend they put a cool box and ice packs in the kitchen though for days out. Marvin, who looks after the house was extremely helpful and a great guy to sit and chat with. Damon the new taxi driver is very reliable and even turned out late at night to help us when our hire car broke down. Would definately be staying there again. Wonderful holiday... Dogs in the yard as with most Jamaican homes, but they are very friendly and well trained. The ceiling fans keep the house cool without the need for air conditioning. Our only complaint would be the tap to the shower in the en-suite bathroom leaks badly. Minor problem though. Neil, the owner was very helpful before our visit and it was so good to find what we needed within our price range. Lots to do in the area and well situated for travelling round the island by hire car. Reggae Beach is beautiful and not spoilt by too many tourists.

Peaceful and relaxing villa in an ideal location

We are from Nottingham Uk and booked Almond Tree villa for our wedding and vacation. myself, partner - mother-in-law and farther-in-law had the pleasure of renting this villa for 2 weeks. We had a wonderful time, as Trubles and Tiny (Dogs) gave us so much! Tiny had 6 chubby healthy pups on the morning of our wedding and Marvin, the house keeper cooked and arranged a beautiful and traditional meal for our evening reception after the wedding. For anyone who wants to see Jamaica and who prefers to hire a car to tour, We would recommend that this is an ideal location to stay. Mark and Suzan.
